Default Worst sitcom actress???

I say Meredith Baxter. She's more of a dramatic actress than a sitcom actress. She does drama with no effort but comedy there was more of an effort that was put into it.

i'm going to say Brooke Sheilds and Leah Thompson. Sheilds is a decent actress, but she was just horrible on "Suddenly Susan", a role that just wasn't right for her. and Thompson is simply not capable of doing Comedy (Howard the duck, anyone?), she is a dramatic actress and should stick to that.

She was involved with Tony Danza for about half an hour.

Tea Leoni.

They tried so hard to make her a star with that awful sitcom "Naked Truth."

What a mistake.

lol, I remember when they tried making her a star too. Even tho she's been in a few movies and the sort since... she will always be "Mrs. David Duchovney" first and foremost

Lauren Holly is another one like Tea... they tried really hard to make her the "next big thing", even marrying Jim Carrey and dating Brad Pitt... but it still went nowhere, and she's in the "Where Are They Now?" pile

Wow! I'm amazed that I agree with nearly every answer posted so far! Definitely, the top (or is it bottom?) picks for me are:
  • Bonnie Franklin (I never liked her. Her performances seem so forced.)
  • Tea Leoni (Too harsh. Raspy voice.)
  • Bess Armstrong (Stiff & totally unnatural. She was in a short-lived sitcom called "All is Forgiven".)

I'm sure I can come up with more, but I'm too tired right now.

Candice Bergen was as wooden as a board.

Fran Dresher had the most annoying voice.
