Default Lyle Talbot?

Was Mr. Dennison Gilbert's real-life father?

According to Tvland, Lyle Talbot is Gilbert's father. Before the episode that Mr. Dennison appeared in they mentioned that fact.

Thanks Uncle Billy. Duh! I guess if I was paying attention I would have heard that.

I believe he also played the part of 'Thorny,' the Nelson's next door neighbor in Ozzie and Harriet.

NOpe 't Lyle didn't play Thorny. That was Don Defore> He would later play Hazel's boss Mr Baxter. LYle was on Ozzie and Harriet but the character name escapes me at the moment. HIs tv wife's name was Clara played by Mary Jane Croft. I remember now Randolph. Yes it was Joe Randolph. Joe and Clara Randolph.

Getting back to the Dennisons on beaver. There were two. I do remember a younger Mr Dennison who frightened Beaver. It was the episode where Beaver kissed his wife and Eddie gave him the business by saying if Mr Dennison finds out, beaver would be in trouble. Then another episode mentioning a Mr Dennison was beaver goes an all girl party and hides out in Mr Dennison den. Then an episide when the neighbor hood boys play basketball and Ward is upset for they don't play in his yard. Two Mr Dennisons.

You're wrong about the Mr. Dennison that frightened Beaver. That was Mr. Donaldson, who appeared in only one episode, "New Neighbors."

I was in a FIDO qroup (remember them?), and a regular poster there was David DeFore, the son of Don DeFore. He had lots of great tales about his father, and was a great poster. Sadly, he had the difficult task of giving us the bad news, when his dad died in 1993.

Mr. Dennison looked a lot like Don DeFore, I think. What is FIDO?

Oh, thanks for making me feel ancient!

FIDO was a system of passing messages and newsgroups from computer to computer, before AlGore invented the internet.

It was slow and clunky, but it worked!

I never knew. Thanks. You're so funny!

By the way, was the Mr.Donaldson on the cat episode the same Mr. Donaldson in the new neighbors episode?

Thanks, vze3t9q9, for clearing which character Lyle talbot played on Ozzie and Harriet. I must admit, I knew I was on shaky ground saying that he played the next door neighbor, Thorny, but I couldn't remember the other neighbors on the show so I went with him. LOL!
