The Wings theme is the greatest theme song I've ever heard. Newhart is a distant second. What's ur favorite theme song

I've said this before, but that full opening theme really makes those early episodes special for me. The relaxing opening, with that beautiful song played over those scenes of the plane flying over Nantucket helps to set the atmosphere and tone for this excellent sitcom.....

Somehow the series, although still very funny, lost something when it went from the full opening to that short "jingle"-type "Wings" opening, where only the first few notes of the theme song were played.

I prefer the 'Futurama' theme because of the hand bells, synths and the ease of being able to have several online dance remixes.

My favorite with lyrics has to be the opening to 'The King of Queens'. You always know when that show is starting. "My eyes are getting weary..."

It's funny because now that we're back to the old episodes with the full opening theme, it reminds me of last Spring when I first discovered Wings. hey, maybe that's where that nostalgic thing is coming from that you mentioned in your other post, pilotguy! hehe.

as long as we're talking about what theme songs we like, well, I can't think of any that I really exceptionally like, but I know the one that I really DON'T like, and that doesn't go with the show at all, is the opening theme to "Star Trek: Enterprise". I don't actually watch that show. The only Star Trek series that I loved was "Next Generation". But my Dad watches "Enterprise", and every time I hear that song, it makes me want to gag. haha. and it just SOO does not belong as the theme to a Star Trek series!!!

OH WAIT! I just remembered a theme song that I loved from a TV show. I loved he theme song to "Roswell". For the first like, year and a half of that show, I used to try to find out what that song was. and then FINALLY, I found out that it was "Here With Me" by Dido. Great song!

That theme song makes me giggle. "Star Trek: Unplugged" is more like it

I Like The Wings ending theme better than the Opening One, Its A Faster and More Upbeat Tune.

My Favorite TV Theme is The Love Boat Theme, And Im Not even a fan of the show!

I like the original opener too, but I REALLY like that short jingle the show began using later on. I think the short jingle would work perfectly, moreover, as my "Start Windows" music. That is, I'd love to hear that jingle every time I turn on my computer.

Anyone know where I can download that short jingle? I keep on seeing links to the long opener, but none to the short-version.

Krista, I'm SURE that that's where that "nostalgic thing" is coming from.....the "sense of discovery" when I thought to myself, "Hey, this is really a GREAT show! Why didn't I ever watch this before NOW?".

Last spring, toward the end of NICK's 11 PM - Midnight run of an hour "Wings" block, my family and I were on Easter vacation in Florida. After a hard day at Disney World, we would go back to the hotel room, my wife and kids would collapse and fall asleep, and I'd sit up in the hotel bed watching "Wings"....and it was during that vacation that I REALLY became hooked on the show! Seeing those early episodes again takes me back to that fun vacation....That probably has something to do with it!

I love the early theme music. It's a positively beautiful song, and with the plane flying, the water....it's all very serene.

I just think its weird that in the opening credits for the first season, Tim Daly is listed as "Timothy Daly"....
