Default In What City Does This Show Take Place?

Ever since this show started I've always wondered. They never say anything about it (or at least I missed it). When it was winter it looked like they had cool weather but not cold enough to snow.

They never said where it was, although I always assumed it was somewhere in California, near the mountains...

Default Wonder Years City

The Wonder Years takes place somewhere in New York. For one thing, Kevin always wears a New York Jets jacket and he pretends to be Emerson Boozer of the New York Jets when playing football. I believe there were a few other things that prove it is in New York, but I can't think of them right now. It didn't take place in California, like someone suggested. He wouldn't be wearing his coat in California.

I guess you've never been to California. It does get cold there.

I saw California on Jack's license plate once. It's definitely in California...I just don't know what town.

First of all, I really doubt the show takes place in California.....If I remember correctly, in one episode they take a vacation to Ocean City, a very popular vacation town back in the day, which is on the East Coast near Maryland, and I really dont think the Arnold's would drive all the way from California to Ocean City.....I think that Kevin either lives in New York, because of him always wearing his Jet's jacket, or also possibly Ohio.....In one episode, Kevin stages a walkout at his school because of the Kent State shootings....I'm not sure if these walkouts occurred throughout America at the time, but I know that they were very popular in Ohio

I believe its Southern,Cal.(maybe in the valley, where it does get jacket cold at times).I haven't seen the show for a while, but not only are the license plates California,I think they showed Wayne's license when he got it,and if memory serves,it said California on there.

There is also an Ocean City in New Jersey.

I thought he staged the walkout to protest the Vietnam War. He also could have staged the walkout just to get out of class!

I know two schools--McKinley High and RFK (as in Robert F. Kennedy) Junior High--were mentioned because that's where Kevin and his gang went to school. I think there was a Southwestern school mentioned in the "Hero" episode where Kevin idolizes basketball player Bobby Riddle--Southwestern's mascot was the Bengals (just like the "Who Dey!" NFL team), and they were the team that eliminated the McKinley Knights. I know a Canton McKinley school exists, having followed high school basketball in the Buckeye State.

What were the other schools mentioned on TWY?

I thought Lincoln was a junior high school. It was also the school to which Winnie Cooper transferred after eighth grade.
