Default Has TD 'jumped the shark'??

Tonight's eppie was most disappointing.

The CD exit just plain sukked and I don't give a rat's behind about this new girl. After both Teddy and Jack disappearing, it will be nearly impossible to emotionally invest in anymore of Jinny's relationships. There is just no payoff further evidenced by the sudden ending of Nate and CD.

I actually caught myself channel surfing during tonight's show.

I never understood what that meant honestly...

...its boat has just picked up a few more holes though and water seems to be gaining quickly. Hopefully they'll find some caulk for it soon, but if not, I suppose it'll be underwater in 21 more episodes.

I hope not though. Still holding out hope.

Of course the show has jumped the shark. OK, we lost half of the original cast in just 3 seasons?! I have a faint glimmer of hope that CD will come back, but she won't be able to if the show doesn't continue.

The show has gotten so disappointing. Season three wasn't great [with the exception of a few episode] and season four's premiere was a let down. They have gotten rid of CD, who was an excellent character, and the way they got rid of her was awful, and they totally messed up the entire CD/Nate storyline which many fans [including myself] have been looking forward to for so long. They keep trying to give Jinny a love interest and the relationship always ends up failing, and they brought in that annoying girl Stacy who has absolutely nothing to offer to the force. They get rid of characters without any explanation, and what they did to CD has to be the worst. I miss the days when we knew all the characters well and they didn't come and go, they just stayed. I miss the days when they were like a big family. The show just doesn't have the excitement it used to.

*nods* the premiere was such a disappointment. not only with the characters, but the plot was so predictable. if they keep going like this there's no way it will be renewed. *sigh* so sad

Against the norm, I suppose, I thought the premiere was most entertaining. I don't think it's lost anything but a character. I for one was not disappointed in the least bit. We all knew C.D. wasn't going to be there! It wasn't like we went into it blind. We got more of an explanation than about Angela- that's all I wanted since we can't change the obvious, make the best of what we got. The best isn't hard to find- at least in my eyes. It's always been there just now it's harder to see for some than normally because there's a huge void blocking our vision. Once people can get over that (if they can) I think it'll be just fine. It's still great to me.

The show is still my favorite, it still holds me attention, and I will still tune in every Sunday just like always.

I actually didn't hate it that much, I'm kinda excited that Amy Jo Johnson is on there cuz I have always enjoyed her and I miss CD, but what are we gonna do about it....and have I mentioned that I thought Nate was like 10 times hotter than the other episodes! I was in awe...thank god i taped it!

I totally agree. I'm glad that there is someone out there other than me who did enjoy the premiere. I'm going to continue watching until the end.

I was disappointed in this season's premiere but will probably watch most of the episodes regardless.

I certainly don't want the show to be cancelled. After CD's 'sendoff', it will be difficult to emotionally invest in the characters or their relationships.

Every year we see important characters like Angela, Teddy, Jack, or CD simply disappear from the landscape with little explanation and that really suks. I'll still watch to see what happens to Jinny and the Cap but I'm not interested in the new chick and really don't care to see Nate in any other relationships.

Angela- I think they should have explained why Angela left a little better not just "angela's gone" I think they did that because she was only there for 1 year and didn't have such an impact on the lives and story lines.

Teddy- He really didn't just disappear into thin air. We know he still works at the DA's office.

Jack- We know alot more then most. He moved to Tuson to be by his son and i think many of us sorta knew that a divorce was coming.

CD- We know that she didn't want to be reminded of the force so she left which included nate and left only a note. The season is just starting and i hope they will explain more.

I just don't think the characters are the same anymore. I mean, Jinny used to be this take-no-prisoners person who now gets all tongue-tied when she talks to a guy. I don't like that.

I do like the comedy so far. I was so wrapped up in pointing out the things I didn't like that I forgot to point out the things I do. Although I can find no redeemable qualities in Stacy, Raina was way less annoying than usual. Nate was so sad! I do like the new look though. I wish they would have done more personal stuff of the rest of the characters, not just Jinny. The Cap was really funny, and Magda was just sorta there.

I think the characters are the same- we're just beginning to see even more layers to them. Not everyone can be professionall (Cap) or a hardass (Jinny) all the time. Plus now Jinny doesn't have really anything she can fall back on if she actually goes out there and makes her life a living hell. Everyone has their tongue-tied, comical, and sarcastic moments regardless of popular opinion. After coming out from beneath the rock Jinny has begun to I think it's perfectly fine for her character to have different sides to her. She's no longer using or drinking, and she's finally seeing daylight again.

As for Raina... I've never really liked her. She's not really the kind of character I can get into, BUT... After such the wait for the Premiere I was kinda happy to see her again. (I know... ) She's not as annoying anymore like Kayla said. (They have Stacy for that now.) I really liked how Raina showed up first on the Premiere... walking down the hallway toward the Division clasping her hands together all nervous- yet surprisingly cheery. I don't know why... but that was such a moment that only Raina could pull off, and I really liked it.

Stacy... well... Stacy. She's a hard character to really like much less love. Maybe because she's so different? She's young... she's cheery... she's talkative (Ok, yeah, I know those alone don't make her different *coughrainacough*)... she's rich. (Ding ding ding) Yeah, there's the catch. None of the other Inspectors have all that much money... although Magda might be heading that way with Gabe's career picking up. That's if of course he takes her back after hearing about the affair, but that's neither here nor there. Stacy, not much unlike Raina had been, doesn't like the gun aspect of Police Work. She's playing on the whole rich girl, innocent girl... as if they go together. Yeah-uh-huh. Because of that I have a hunch that Jinny won't be getting along with this one much better than she did with Raina. (if not a lot less.)
OK, to the point... she runs her mouth every chance that she gets, she's hyper (wow is she hyper.), she's young... She'll be a great friend for Raina. lol
As for my opinion on her... Amy Jo Johnson- even though I haven't liked her acting in the past, I think that she's doing OK with this character. She plays the whole energetic thing to it's full extent. Stacy maybe ok in the future. Won't ever be a favorite of mine, but she should fit in with the cast pretty well.

Nate. Jinny isn't depressed anymore, but now Nate is taking up that whole "I hate the world." attitude. Apparently he hates his razor too, but that's not always a bad thing.
I can't help but keep thinking the whole cocain thing he used to be addicted to. Would they really go that whole drug route again? If so I think Nate will be the next victim.

The question on the Topic. "Has the Division 'jumped the shark'" to answer it directly, No, I don't think it has. It's not like suddenly everyone loves everyone and everything, and life is dandy at the San Francisco Police Department.

Life changes, people change, and if the writers want the Characters and Show to be realistic the characters have to change slightly too.

I thought that the episode was very good, I don't think it jumped the shark. Yeah the characters have changed some but that is what a show like this is for, the producers actors and pretty much everyone wants the characters grow.
As for Jinny acting like the cat got her tongue around Hank, well if a guy had a complete mental break down in front of me and then asked me out I would be a little bit miffed. As for her not being a hard ass the whole time she was most likely acting that was because she was dealing with a constant hang over, plus she did say that she would shoot that girl in the next episode, can't stop her.
CD yeah that was a cheap way for them to get her out of the picture, but if you think about it we got just about as much as Nate did, more we knew she wasn't comming back. Weather Tracy left or her contract was up she still was out of the show and if someone isn't in the show it's a little hard to get a better way to let us know then just to talk about it.
Stacy, I liked her. Maybe it's just me but I like the fact that Cap talks to her officers and its even better when you throw in the person that will throw the cap a cruve ball every once in awhile.
Nate, I think it would be intresting to have him get hooked on somthing then Jinny can help him, like I was hoping he would help her out last season. Just thought it would be a twist. I thought they (writers) did a good job with this show granted there could be more drama but hey it got my attention and it got all of you guys talking about it, and that is what they want.
