Does anyone else notice that Ward don't really dominate his marriage as it was known to have been back in the days? He allows June to spend money as she sees fit and help make decisions concerning the boys, etc. In fact, I have noticed that there were many times that she demands Ward to talk to the boys immediately if they do something wrong or when she is worried about them doing something. Ward might start to decide something and see that June is upset or worried and he will abide by what she wants, which I think is very sweet but it suprises me being that back then the man was the boss and the wife would submit to him. Let's face it, we never heard Ward say."This is the way it is, take it or leave it baby".

ya he was really different compared to guys back then. i know when i first started watching LITB i kept...waiting for Ward and June to have thier little differences and Ward to say, as you did, thats the way it is and that's that! if you ask me, i would say that Ward kind of....spoiled June...

Call me crazy people but I always thought it was sort of sexy for a man back in those days to be "THE BOSS".
I guess that's why I feel I could fit in back then. I know I will probably get alot of flack for this but....To each our own.

flackflackflackflackflackflackflackflackflackflack!!
![]() I have noticed also that Ward usually seems to give in, when June lets him know she is not pleased. Of course, I think that most men, if they had a wife as beautiful as "June", they would do whatever she said! |

Finally a man's point of view. Maybe that's why he was the way he was.
If I was June I know I would be one to hang on his every word. Ward just seems so intelligent and does what is best for the family without being a "caveman". Not to say it is a bad thing to be a caveman.

Ralph Kramden in "The Honeymooners" was a caveman.....BOOM, ZOOM...and it fit him, but Ward could never put-over acting like that, just wouldn't work.

I really think if they created him that way to begin with then it would work, after all it was the way of life back then. It would fly with me anyway. JMO.

i wouldn't mind either, but i must say that the way ward and june acted, actually made me think "maybe married people are supposed to like each other" when i was younger, growing up in a house with parents that always fought, nonstop. i always wished my parents were more like ward and june. but i must admit if ward was a caveman it would be downright sexy!!

yeah, it may be "downright sexy", but after having to live with a person like that, it could get old very fast!

It would have been neat (did I really say "neat") if they could have had an "April Fools" type of episode, where everyone was some other famous actor or something like that. Ward could have been "Fred Flintstone" or "The Wolfman"....ect...
