Reading all these posts lately makes me wonder if I should trade with anybody here. It just seems that everyone is getting screwed.
I think I would to hear about good traders here. Because if I keep reading any more posts like I've been reading concerning bad traders, I think I will start to steer clear of trades here. Am I alone in feeling this way ? |

Hi there! I haven't posted much here but I post on some other sites on a daily basis and this scamming crap is getting bad anymore. It is everywhere you go. I try to stick with the same "crowd" because I know that they are "safe." I hate to open myself up to new "crowds" just because I don't want screwed. Sorry to hear you had bad luck. That is just sad. Hope things get better!

Hey Shanghai Pierce: I've seen your kitty picture and I have to ask...did you take that picture? It's really funny!!
You know...there are lots of new names and while I'm relatively new...I've learned who are the honest folks to trade with and I stick with them and those they reference me to. Most of my bad experiences have come from buying shows off Ebay & Yahoo. Even when I think I'm asking very specific questions, I still get screwed in the end because individual opinion on quality is subjective. My latest disaster was paying $90 for a set of Rocko's Modern Life on dvdr that arrived without menu selection capability. When I asked the seller about it - he told me that I should have asked prior to purchasing and that I can just fastforward to the episode I want to watch. I don't know about him, but - I have a hard time fastfowarding a dvd to the exact point of where a show begins. But - at least I did get them and the picture quality is excellent. Someday, I'll have a dvd recorder and will re-record them and put in menu selections. Long story - but...I'm sticking with those I know are a sure thing. |

Honestly I've been lucky. Only been screwed once....so far. I am in the middle of a few trades as we speak and I can honestly say I am holding my breath hoping it goes well.
But it just seems there is more negative going on here than positive. |

I consider myself an excellent trader. I ususally worry when someone is trading with a whole bunch of people at once. Time is the issue for me, but I am on school break this month, so I have lots of time. Trading with $ and those wanting lots of tapes can be risky. I usually try to just trade 2-3 tapes at a time. That way it's not so bad. Always do a test trade with someone first. it will tell a lot about the person, especially the QUALITY of the episodes you are getting. Someone's huge library might be impressive, but if the quality sucks, then what difference does it make. When all is said and done, though, it's like diving into the deep end. Just have to take that chance.

Hey,
I have been burned alot. (at least 7 times) I've sent tapes and money and lost out on both. But, I have to trust or do without. I'd rather give everyone a fair chance. I have traded with a few people here on this board and I in most have been pleased. I have traded with Nannyfine and she is a wonderful person and a really good trader. Thanks nanny for the Nanny. I am watching them now and they are great. I hope the quaility of DW are as good as these. I hope you all keep giving people the fair chance that I try to give. (especially to me)lol When I get burned I just never deal with them again and I'll post them on here. The only reason people are posting the BAD traders is for your protection. If you were never warned you will never be protected. (think about it) Love you guys!!

I trade with a guy named Steven M. Russo sometimes. Ever hear of him? He's a real nice guy. I was wanting some rare Stooge stuff, like Moe Howard on Mike Douglas show
The best parts was when Ted Knight was co-hosting and they had a pie ight at the end, and when Soupy sales was co-hosting and Moe threw a pie at a pretty girl in a bikini!A few months ago, I traded 15 tapes at one time with him and still got the ones I wanted. I have some lists on Video Addicts, too |

I've delt with tsmiller and xlatinopete, whatever his username is (tv people) or something. Pretty cool folks. And, dlemond and mashunter and a whole bunch of people whos user ids i cant remember how to spell. There are some nice lil' peeps around here.
I've been ripped off twice on SO, but those people seem to be small scale and long gone. I mean, for Heaven's Sake, swiping $10 and 5 blank tapes just really gets me down. What kind of friggin thief is that? No wonder everyone's feeling paranoid, LOL. |
