It was so weird to jump from "Arsenic and Old Mom" (great episode, by the way) right into the first season. I haven't seen most of the season 1 episodes, so this is a treat. It's a shock to see Roseanne revert from her season 9 look to an entirely different person; the voice is still the same, but the body sure isn't. I had no idea Dan's boat had actually been a plot in the early episodes. It's funny to see Dan and Roseanne contemplating what it would be like to have an extra $50, when later on that's practically a penny to them. And Jackie's haircut is crazy!
Also, I find it nice that the audience was fully into the show from the beginning; there are plenty of laughs and clapping. First seasons of shows often don't evoke as much of a reaction from the audience as do later seasons. I assume there was some buzz stemming from her late show appearances? But I really wish they had shown "Life and Stuff", and, of course, "Into That Good Night". Please be included in upcoming marathons... |

I know, it's so funny to see DJ dating in one episode... and then in the very next, he's a little precocious 6 year old again, the boy version of Rudy Huxtable. And don't forget how Darlene went from a grown attractive woman with husband and child back to pre-adolescent tomboy. It's when you see that development when you realize just how long Roseanne really did air.
I honestly admit tho, I don't really like the first 2 seasons as much, season 3-7 was when the show was at it's pinnacle, with 4, 5 and 6 as the best of the best |

I really don't like especially the 1st season. 2nd season is better, but the 3rd through 7th are really the best. Great TV.
