Yahoo is free. There are two other types of Yahoo accounts that cost money, though.

If you signed up with Yahoo before mid-2001, you have a 6MB account (upgraded from the 3MB you got back then). But if you signed up with Yahoo after, you only get a 4MB account.

I use yahoo, go, and myownemail.com which lets you choose from a lot of different things like @haha.com, or at american idol.com...stuff like that.

Hotmail always confuses me.

It's also ironically the one I've had the longest (since April 1998). I got my 1st Yahoo Mail account in December 1998, but I prefer Yahoo over Hotmail.

I mean, for God's sake, Hotmail doesn't even TELL you how much MB you used so far! All it shows is the percentage now.

I guess I don't really go to Yahoo, I've tried out the mail and I didn't really like it but..

Lets say they are both even!

I love Yahoo, and haven't had any problems with it at all.

BEWARE of HOTMAIL! I didn't check my email in like 2 months (cuz I was traveling) and they deleted everything! My username was cancelled and I lost a lot of stuff. Not cool.

Apparently Hotmail has a 30-day policy on checking your email (or so I heard), so if you don't check your email within 30 days, it gets deleted. Not with Yahoo - I think their policy is 4 months, so that's cool with me.

Another reason I prefer Yahoo to Hotmail.
