ask Archie to stay home so they can have Dinner with the Jeffersons? I don't thnk that was right that he had to give up his ticket so he can behome to entertain guests. Couldn't they have postponed the Dinner with the Jeffersons until the following night? Another Dingbat mmoment for Edith.

Well I suppose you don't want any interesting debate on your threads then. Are you posting just to say Edith sucks nowadays? She's a character on the show. What can you do to change it now? But anyway....it's called compromise, and it's something mature people do in order to have nice relationships. Edith usually was the one who was "downsized" in this very traditional 1950's marriage. When Archie bent in her favor, to do something SHE wanted to do for a change, (besides caring for her husband, which she seemed to really enjoy in spite of having to live with such a man!

) it was a moment when we all could go "he's not as dumb as we think..." And then of course....he does something dumb or dumber than before. The thing with AB is he just doesn't GET it...he's CLUELESS. I know it's nothing I can do now, i'm just having a episode discussion. I just can't believe she would make him change his plans when he already had a paid ticket. And to make things worse, he finds out Louise husband never showed and went to the Mets game. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Good post, Viola. I still can't figure out why you (Sitcom Analyzer) don't like Edith...? Edith may seem like a dingbat at times, but she was smart. It just took her awhile to understand things. In a way, she's probably the smartest one in the family...and let's not forget honest.

She was just TOO NICE, especially when it came to Louise Jefferson. I just don't know if could have dealt with someone like Edith. But she had her funny moments

Okay...I see your point. If someone were that nice in real life (I'm sure there were people as nice as she was), they would have to be very careful of people taking advantage of them.

Yes! It's a TV SHOW!

Like I said in another thread..somewhere...they didn't expect this show to run over and over and over so that we fans could drum up every little loophole and blip in the scripts, so I watch and just enjoy the show without getting to anal about it. But hey..you sure as hell live up to your screenname, SA!

Maybe the writers were grasping at cigars with this ep. We could tear all the episodes apart under that premise.

Like Archie took advantage of her for all of those years. That was the only kind of woman who could have been married to Archie.
