I am sooooooooo sick of all these double airings. The Cosby Show airs 4 times on N@N, 2 times a day on WGN, and 2 times a day on TBS. I counted I Dream Of Jeannie once and it was on like 4 times a day on TVLand!!!! Now Roseanne airs 4 times a night on N@N and 4 times a day on Oxygen Channel. Why can't we have new shows like Hogan Family, Gimme A Break, Doogie Howser, My Two Dads, and California Dreams? The network people say: "we don't have enough money to air new shows." I mean c'mon, if they are that desparate for money, I will loan them some!!!! I dont watch TBS anymore. I dont watch N@N either because of this. I think that alot of channels are losing money. You can tell because they gave to air the same shows over and over. They just try to cover it up.

I think it depends on the show. Some shows I could watch all day and not get tired of, others I really only want to see one.
But as a whole, double airing take spots away from others shows that could be airing. |

I don't like it.
In some cases I do. Like for taping a show that has 250 some episodes (Bewitched) then yeah, air it twice a day, but other shows have just become so darn overplayed. The networks do it because in reality it 'saves them money.' It's considerably cheaper to air repeats of highly rated shows than it is to acquire another show and air it. It makes sense. I'm not really guessing, it's an explanation I heard back in 1997 when Nick at Nite was getting heck for airing Wonder Years and Happy Days back-to-back. |

I think twice is fine for a sitcom. In fact, I like sitcoms that air in 2 back-to-back slots. I don't like sitcoms airing more than that though.

I don't mind double airings of shows. I just wish there was more of a variety. The Cosby Show and Roseanne are definitely overplayed. I don't think any show deserves to air on more than one network at a time. Two at the most if local stations air them.

Double Airings of any show (even my favorites) stinks.
Because if you only have time to watch one episode a day.... that means you'll miss an episode when you watch it again the next day. |
