Did Johnny Depp's characterization of Capt. Jack Sparrow remind anyone of Keith Richards?

Yes, he reminded me of him,too. I think Johnny may have kinda used Keith as an inspiration. It seems that I recall hearing that somewhere.

Johnny did say the he used Keith Richards and PePe LaPew as models for Captain Jack ( I love this character ).

I didn't know about the Richards connection when I watched it. I can see it very clearly in retrospect. Depp is a blast to watch and hear in this movie!

Yup, the Keith Richards thing is true! I could certainly see it! Wasn't Johnny Depp great(and funny) in the role of Jack Sparrow?I love that guy!
