Why is mid 60s-70s rock called Classic Rock?Wouldn't the 50s-early 60s rock be considered the classic?After all it is the orginal.

Maybe because the 60s-70s rock is more 'edgy and hard' while the 50s is more of the poppish rock?

I wouldn't say that.Although in the 50s even moderatley slow songs were put in the rock category, so were the 70s.It doesn't make sence.The first rock that was very popular should be called the classic.
