Default I can't believe these Two 1970's are still referred to or mentioned in 2004

The Jeffersons-Any Sports Player with the last name Jefferson is always linked to the TV show on ESPN. This guy named Richard Jefferson for the Nets is linked to the Term (MOVING ON UP) when he flys in the air and dunks the ball.

This past Saturday, when a Carolina Panther caught a TD pass, after he scored he was imitating (Fred Sanford) having a heart attack.

Just amazing that there are always references to either the characters or the show itself in 2004.

It's not really amazing, it's not like those shows haven't been seen since the 70's. If someone were making a reference to something like "Courtship of Eddie's Father" or "Love American Style" that might be considered surprising. Both the Jeffersons and Sanford are available on dvd and are still shown in syndication so it's not like people have to think back to the 70's to refer to something concerning those shows.

When you hear those Shows on Sports Highlights it's still amazing how powerful they must have been back in the 70's to still be mentioned now.

I think that is cool....

Sanford and Son and The Jeffersons are just a part of our lives and though they are both sitcoms of the 1970's, they are both considered still funny and still a joy to watch 30 years later....

Another example -- although not from the 70's -- would be, " Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis (or fill in the blank)."
