Default What happened to Fred?

At the end of season seven, Fred practically disappeared. Why didn't he remain part of the show?

Jackie and Fred filed for divorce and Jackie got custody of the child, even though, Fred sued her for it in Season 7.

actually, when Fred sued, that was in season 6 before they got together.

Jackie and Fred broke up at the end of season 7, he appeared a few times in season 8. But surprisingly, Jackie and Fred were no Ross/Rachel or Miranda/Steve where they finally wound back up together

I liked Fred. I think he was a good addition to the show. I like how he had that, 'take no crap' attitude. He never let Jackie run his life and if he stood up to an issue. he stuck with it. he was also a good friend to Dan. I actually didnt like it when Jackie settled with Fred though. I liked her being the single sister with everything wrong in her life. But i think the Fred Character was the best addition they could have done.

Do they even mention Fred's name in any of the later season 8 or entire run of 9th season episodes? You would think that if Jackie and Roseanne had won the lottery he would have heard about it. They should have at least mentioned him occasionally (unless they did and I missed it).

Yeah Fred's name was mentioned but he was never appearing after a few episodes in season 8. Same way with Crystal, her name was mentioned a couple times in season 8 like in "Fights and Stuff" when Roseanne says I was on the phone with Crystal and she said she saw Dan eating a borieto(or however you spell it).
