Default Traditional New Years Sauerkraut Meal

Who eats it?

We have sauerkraut, pork and those exploding hot dogs (I know what they are called but I dont know how to spell it ) and of course mashed potatoes every year. Making it right now.

I LOVE sauerkraut but only a couple times a year. I could never eat it all the time.

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

I love sauerkraut! It is said that to eat cabbage on New Years will bring good luck. I had turkey and dressing. Wonder what that means!?

Knockwurst!

Got it out of the fridge to see

Yes it's said to be good luck (or you'll have bad luck) if you have sauerkraut on New Years Day.

I should eat pounds and pounds of it based on how bad my luck was last year!

Oh! Knockwurst! I was raised on German food and I don't think that I have ever had knockwurst! I'll have to try it someday! Well, I had saurerkraut and pork this past Monday. Does that count? Nanny, I wish you good luck this New Year. We can all use a little of that!

I had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus, and Yorkshire pudding....

I had no clue about this whole "cabbage" thing. I'm about to go see if we have any sauerkraut!

I HATE sourkraut. I can't even stand the smell of it. I don't think very many young people like sourkraut. I helped out at a nursing home one day and their SNACK was sourkraut. Those old people absoluteley loved it!!

Oh, but I do love bratwurst. Or jus regular Johnsonville Brats are yummy in the summer!

I love sauerkraut too!,Bratwurst is so yummy too!,
Mom makes it every once and awhile,In my opinion,
It does matter if you eat a certain food on New Year's
Day that you'll good or bad luck,That's like the old chain
letter gag,if you don't get rid of it you'll have bad luck,
I didn't blackeyed peas,Who cares?,I have had some
bad luck mixed in the years that I have eaten them.
