Default Cleaning CD's/DVD's?

Guys,

Any advice for the proper way to clean CD's/DVD's? Some of friends have disks that are very dusty and skip. Can you take a small amount of water, clean the disk from center to ege and than dry it off or will that hurt the disk or player?

I am told that no cleaners should ever be used and you should always wipe the disk in a straight line from center to edge.

Just use a soft cloth, remember to go from the center out to the edge, and that should do the trick.

Water wont hurt them. If that doesn't work, there is stuff you can buy to clean and repair the discs.

Default Disk cleaning

Don't use water. Use Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, a very soft cloth, and work from the center toward the edges. Those repair things don't work.

Why is it only from center to edge? Meh, I usually just wipe them on my leg or something.

YOU CAN TOO USE WATER. i used to spit on my brother's metallica "kill 'em all" cd all the time and i cleaned it off with water like a year later and it plays just fine. actually it played fine even when it had my spit on it.
