Default What Movies Should ALWAYS Be Seen Uncut?

Guys,

As a follow up to my post of the movies that I like better edited because of too much profanity. I think that there are certain movies that should ALWAYS be seen in their original uncut formats, because cutting them up takes so much away from the powerful impact of the original uncut version:

MOVIES THAT MUST BE SEEN UNCUT

The Breakfast Club
Blazing Saddles
Midnight Cowboy
And Justice For All
Midnight Express
One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest

I'd like to see "Batman Forever" uncut. The original uncut version was almost 2 and a half hours long.

If you check out the dvd for Scarface, one of the bonus features is a comparison between the theatrical version and one edited for television. It really shows the differences between the two. The tv version loses alot of the impact, I think, of the theatrical version. A movie like that, you expect it to have a certain level of grittiness. Watching movies edited like that becomes a distraction for me anyway, because as I'm watching a movie, I'm conscious of the fact that a character isn't saying "you lousy bum", he's saying "you f**king ***hole". For me, it's better to watch a movie unedited because there's no question of naturalness of the dialogue.

Good Fellas
Coming to America(Samuel L.Jackson calling Eddie Murphy a "freakin'airhead"?!! C'mon, we're not idiots.)
Boogie Nights
Sixteen Candles gets dubbed over pretty bad. I'd rather watch my videotape.

Especially when they change the dialogue to something really dumb.

As a Sci Fi fan, I get really ticked off when they chop up movies to fit into a two hour timeslot.

One of my faves is the 1980 classic "Flash Gordon," yet some stations cut out multiple scenes from the film.
Major chunks of the story are missing!

Also AMC shows a really jumbled up version of "Halloween 2."
Sure, they had to cut out some scenes with major gore and nudity, but they show a version that is completely different from the original version.

Also, leave the Star Wars movies alone. I'm serious.

I have seen all of these movies so butchered that it is obscene! If I want to watch them I just get out my videos!

Yeah, I was watching High Fidelity and Jack Black walked in and he was SUPPOSED to say, "Holy sh*t, what the f*ck is that?" but no, he says, "Holy shoot, what the frog is that?".

Anyways, Die Hard is my number one DO NOT EDIT movie.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid.

Why don't they just bleep words out? Bleeps are funny!

Are these movies the horrible TBS editing you guys are talking about? Boy, It must be tough subscribing to cable TV without CITY-TV or TQS on it.
