How come no Christmas episodes? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

At the TVLand Beaver board, nobody seemed to know the reason. LITB was one of the only mainstream shows never to air a holiday-themed episode. Anyone know why?

That's one thing I have noticed in all the years I have watched Beaver. As for why there has never been a Christmas episode, I have no definite reason. Maybe it's because Joe Connelly and Bob Mosher, who created and wrote most of the episodes felt that a Christmas episode was too obvious for a sitcom focusing on childhood.

There was also the possibility that somebody had a holiday episode idea but it was never used.

The only episode I can recall that has any reference to Christmas is The Haircut in which Beaver and Wally have parts in the school play. It's not said but implied since we see Beav at the end as and Angel in the choir.

They never had a Christmas episode, but I don't remember a Halloween one, either. Beaver going trick-or-treating with Larry or Gilbert could have been a great story. And that would have been Eddie's favorite holiday for sure! Wally could have thrown a Halloween party for his friends and it would have been interesting to see what costume choices Eddie & Lumpy would have made!

a halloween ep would have been great, what a shame they never had any type of holiday episodes
