I just purchased the season 1 DVD from Kmart on Christmas Eve. Upon closer inspection after buying it, at the bottom of the back of the case in the fine print it says it is "enhanced for 16x9 televisions", in other words, it is a widescreen DVD. I only have standard TVs right now so I always avoid widescreen DVDs, because I find the black bars really annoying. Anyway, my question is, is the DVD made in just the widescreen format? Is there an option to view it in fullframe? I haven't opened it yet because if it is only widescreen, I'm going to take it back...anyone, please help!

The DVD does come in Fullscreen, mine is. Since you have the widescreen version, I dont know if you can switch it to fullscreen, some DVD's you can but I dont know about this one. I suggest that you go back to Kmart and return it for the fullscreen.

The Three's Company season one DVD doesn't come in widescreen - only full screen. My copy of it also says that it's enhanced for 16x9 television sets, but it plays in full screen and has no option to play it in wide screen.
Since the series wasn't taped using widescreen methods (I can't think of many shows that do), it would be highly unlikely that a widescreen version would ever be released. |

Thanks so much for your help! I've been dying to open it!! Maybe the 16X9 thing just means that if you play it on a widescreen TV it will automatically adjust the picture to the appropriate measures. This was one good thing about VHS tapes...they were universal for any TV...oh well...thanks again!!
