The Darkling 120 min. Friday July 13 12:00 PM USA F. Murray Abraham's slick performance as a greedy millionaire highlights this 2000 teleplay about a man bedeviled by a shadowy imp. Jeff Obold (Aiden Gillen) is a talented car mechanic stuck in a dead-end job as a gumbo chef. A chance encounter with sly financier Bruno Rubin (Abraham) leads Jeff to the lair of a caged creature known as the Darkling. Bored with the avaricious tycoon, the Darkling kills Bruno in order to team up with Jeff, who soon attains wealth and fame under the creature's insidious influence.
