Default Lost Episode DVD's Way Overpriced

Come on, $15 per DVD, and they only put an hour's worth on there?

They could easily put 2 or even 3 hours worth of material without losing any picture quality, being that the picture quality is poor to begin with.

The Classic 39 did the show right, 5 discs, nice packaging and a real bargain. From what I can tell, it is selling very well.

My gripe is that they could easily do the same with the lost episodes, one big box set for the lost episodes, reasonably priced. You're talking 6 or 7 DVDs, becasue there are a lot of shows that were only 10 or 15 minutes long. It would probably sell as well as the classic 39.

While they're at it, here's my proposal for a few more Honeymooners releases.

I dvd of the Pert Kelton shows.

1 dvd of the 1950's Trip to Europe series.

1 dvd covering the few Honeymooners sketches covering the early 60's.

Another Box set for the latter 60's episodes.

And one more the 70's specials. There are so many people that have never seen any of these (myself included), that is just not right to hold onto them any longer. Come on, I have been a lifelong fan of this show. I wish they would stop playing games, and just allow me an opportunity to see and own these shows.

If you buy them individually at retail, then you sure will get hosed. The best bet is to buy them in their boxed-set versions. DVD Planet.com is currently selling them for $37.49 per box. With 4 discs per box that works out to about $9.50/disc. The problem is, it's a tough item to find in stock. Right now for example, they have 3 out of the 6 boxes in stock. But their's is about the lowest price around. I wouldn't call MPI Home Video one of the better video distributing companies around by any means, but considering they were working with kinescope recordings of varying quality and the fact that these episodes surfaced nearly 20 years when digital restoration equipment was either brand new or even unheard of, they really haven't done too bad a job with them. Maybe some day soon we can look forward to some "sprucing-up" of these shows, which will mean MORE boxed sets to buy!!! :-)

I bought the first box set on ebay for less than ten bucks brand new. I think there might be a few more (first sets) at this price. I was suprised to get it so cheap.
