Default This is Why No one on this Board should deal with Siblis

I asked this person do they have any episodesof THat's My Mama and they said they only have one episode.

So i asked how much for that one episode and he said $40.00-LOL He is Crazy. Or Just UNEMPLOYED and HUNGRY. Why would i pay $40.00 for one episode. He is clearly out of his mind.

That's what he charges for a tape. That's up to him. You are not obligated to buy it or pay for it. You asked, he answered. Doenst' mean you have to follow through. That also does not mean people should not deal with him.

If you want something bad enough you'll pay for it.

Regardless, he shouldn't advertise any of his shows on his board. He is a rip off

But Solomon that is just what you think, that doesnt' mean it's true. He offers some stuff that is very hard to come by. If people want something bad enough they will pay for it. You might think it's a lot, and not agree with it, but that doesn't mean he's a rip off.

Default Disagree

His price is high, BUT the price is always dictated by a willingness to pay and or a willingness to sell. I do not like the high price, but if it is a show I want bad enough, I would pay for it. I have dealt with siblis over the years and have always been pleased with the result.

There is no way I could ever pay $40 for 0ne episode. I know the show That's My Mama is hard to find but at those prices he's asking, i will just have to do without until i find someone who has that show

Now how is he a rip off if you haven't even bought anything from him yet? Just because he offers a high price does not mean he is a scammer. When a person takes someone's money/tapes and doesn't send anything in return, THAT is a rip off. So your assertion that he is a scammer because his price for tapes are prohibitively high to you is a bunch of bull manure.

I could send him $40 and never receive the tape. I can't believe you people are defending a guy who charged 40 for one episode and i'm criticized for charging 60 dollars for 33 eps. UNBELIEVABLE

and then at that point you could call him a scammer. He's not a scammer by charging that amount. He's overpriced, yes. A Scammer? No.

I am afraid I will side with Solomon - he does sound like a rip off artist. But I recently sold all 18 episodes of the ellen show on ebay, started it originally at the price of $25 and it ended with 10 bids at $180...I couldnt believe it - -I was pleased to say the least

Oh well, if you guys want the episodes bad enough I guess you'lll pay for them!

Default My 2 Cents

If I can add my 2 cents in. When I do tapes for people, my prices are usually charged per tape (granted mine are $15, not $40), but if someone asked me for 1 full 6 hour tape with 22 episodes OR 1 6 hour tape with 1 episode, the price would be the same.

I totally agree with SA that the price is way too high. It's a free world and he can charge whatever he likes, but with prices like that, I have a hard time believing he's getting alot of bites. Sometimes I feel $15 is too much, imagine $40.

I also agree that this doesn't make him a scammer. DeWayne Guthrie is a damn scammer. He was damn cheap ($25 for 3 tapes) but he never sends out your tapes and if he does the quality is absolute garbage.

When I first started in on tape trading, siblis, piperspost, Bob Quinn, or whatever he calls himself, started emailing me from the get-go. I imagine he's getting business from just being persistent, especially with newbies and/or those desperate for his stuff.

As far as his prices go, I personally think it's a crime to charge even $10 for a tape, supposedly for supplies and wear and tear on equipment. Even that's stretching it in my book. But this is a free world, and I like it thatta way.

Refusing to sell, but upholding freedom
