Default Why a new Quentin?

Today on my local syndicate they played a mid season 4 episode, the Christmas one, which was only about 2 weeks ahead of the rotation they were on (just starting season 4). Imagine my surprise to see a NEW Quentin! What happened to the young Quentin? Was the actor fired or did he lose interest or quit?

Thanks if you know.

Would love to see some posting on this board...it's too quiet

The blue sky, the desert earth, stretching out into the eerie infinity. A beautiful never-ending nothing.

Is that what happened? I was wondering what the deal was. It seemed like the actor/character aged quickly. So, it must have been a different actor to play the role sometime during the middle of the series. I am also wondering if anyone knows what happened.

Hmm, I tried doing some research on this topic by searching the web, but I came up empty handed. Sure would like to know why the sudden change in actors for this role.

Supposedly, Brett Butler used foul language around the kids on the set, and even flashed Jon Paul Steuer (Quentin) after she got a breast enlargement. Steuer's parents didn't want him around Butler any longer and pulled him off the show, although he supposedly was still paid for the remaining two seasons. Julie White, who played Nadine, was said to have left because she couldn't take Butler's behvior anymore. Like Steuer, she was paid through the end of her contract even though she was no longer appearing.

Both Steuer and White have never commented on their departures, and that speaks volumes to me. If you do a Google newsgroup search on "Jon Paul Steuer", you'll find a good many threads about the subject, and various links to stories about it.

This show jumped the shark when the first Quentin left. I never got used to the second one. One reason was he was to old but I guess the producers had to bring in an older actor in case Brett Butler did any thing else.

Wow, I never knew this. I have heard, however, that Brett's behaviors were very out there, and not the best. Too bad, it was a great show, IMO.

Default Graces behavior

Also read that Alan Autry (Rick) was orginally signed for two years but broke his contract because of her antics....It was also inferred that she wanted alittle extra attention from Autry and he was not willing....Very sad, enjoyed the show very much........

WOW! I loved this show, I still watch the reruns all the time, I had no idea there was so much scandal.

They've just started to re-air the series here, and I was surprised to see that, in the pilot, an entirely different actor was in the opening credits for Quentin -- Noah Segan. It's kind of funny that both Libby and Patrick stayed the same, but Quentin was played by three different boys.

The thing about Brett Butler's Actions causing the parents of the original Quinten to pull him from the show is true. I seem to remember seeing this on E! True Hollywood Story.
