Default WoST Christmas Bonuses - December 25, 2003

The World of Soap Themes has done it again! In addition to the previously mentioned Christmas episodes (see the Dec. 10 thread), WoST has added these classic Christmas episodes from your favorite ABC soaps to the site:

RYAN'S HOPE - December 1984

ALL MY CHILDREN - December 1984

ONE LIFE TO LIVE - December 1984

GENERAL HOSPITAL - December 1984

Also added were the following >>normal<< opening/closing sequences...

ANOTHER WORLD - 1987 Closing

ONE LIFE TO LIVE - 1969 Open & Close

ONE LIFE TO LIVE - 1984 Opening

ONE LIFE TO LIVE - 1984 Closing

ONE LIFE TO LIVE - 1984 Closing (another one)

RYAN'S HOPE - 1984 Opening

There are also some EDGE OF NIGHT, GUIDING LIGHT and LOVE OF LIFE materials.

NOTE: The AMC 1991, DAYS 1966, GH 1964, and SECRET STORM 1966 episodes are now gone.

The GL and LOL materials are 15 minute episodes from 1953.

I love this bonus...I've always wanted to see a post-1981 episode of RH. I'm also glad to see that there are also more ABC soaps on there. *dies* This bonus is really great.

I'm also glad the other Christmas bonuses are still up. I was excited to see the rarely seen first opening of OLTL.

Whenever I try to download a segment of any bonus episodes, one of my family members come home and interupt me! I hope Brian (the owner of WoST) keeps these episodes up till at least New Years Day. My brother is going to be working a lot next week and I'll have the house to myself and I can download everything I want. I've seen the first segment of the "Search for Tomorrow" 1966 episode. I saw the first segment of the 1991 AMC and I wished I would have seen it all, but I don't care now, with the 1984 episode up. My main priority is to see the AMC and RH episodes, then I'll try the OLTL episode and maybe GH. I'm definatly gonna watch the LOL episode too. I'll have to try my hand at the rare 1969 OLTL opening too.

EDITED: The only, and I mean >>ONLY<< regret I have is that the 1984 "Loving" Christmas episode isn't there. That show aired between RH and AMC at 12:30PM and I'm surprised it isn't there for download too. I guess the person who taped ABC Daytime that day wasn't a LOV fan...

JT, why don't you just save the episodes you want to see so you can watch them when you are able too even if they aren't on the website anymore. I saved the 1991 AMC episode because I wasn't able to watch it when you said it was on the website and I still haven't seen it yet so I am glad I saved it. Just a suggestion.

I didn't know you can save WoST things! Explain to me, please, how to. I need to finish that SFT! I can't wait to start with AMC and RH too...

Thanks, Chris! I'm downloading the first segment of the 1984 AMC episode right now. So this means that if I'm interupted, I can go back and it will pick up where I left off last time?

Yep. I need to watch the 91 episode of AMC. I saw Janet was in it. I love her, they need to bring her back. I haven't seen Natalie in years. I barely remember most of these people. I forgot that Dimitri fell in love with Natalie after saving her. SoapNet needs to air old episodes of AMC. They are classic.

Have you heard any news on the AMC DVD? I have been wondering what episodes they will release.

Well thank you for letting me know!

I haven't heard anything on the AMC/GH news. I've been hearing rumors that contrary to popular belief, the DVDs will be collections of different storylines, past and present.

Are you on any kind of Messenger? I'd like to talk to you in IM.

I don't think you can save episodes from WoST. While it will 'save' a file to your computer, when it comes time to actually watch the episode your computer will still need to connect to the file on their server to actually watch it. So, if it's no longer on the website's server, you can't watch it.

Thus far, I've watched most of the Ryan's Hope bonus and have enjoyed it. My only complaint is that, other than the characters of Maeve, Johnny, and Siobhan, I don't recognize anyone although I've heard of a few of them (Rick, Maggie, and Sydney, for instance). In fact, I've never seen the Marg Helgenberger version of Siobhan (I've only seen Ann Gillespie in the role), so it's like there are really only two characters that I recognize. *shrug*

Anyway, I can't what to finish watching the episode and view the other ABC soaps. This is really what SOAPnet should be airing everyday and during holidays. They could have a 48+ hour marathon of old Christmas episodes they have in their archive. So many wasted opportunities...

I didn't know that. I thought once you clicked save target as, you get to keep the file even if the website gets rid of it. My bad, sorry JT.

How long does WoST keep there episodes? I had that 1991 episode on my computer since it came out on the website and I watched it last night.

OK I watched the first segment of AMC 1984 today. Jane Elliot was great as Cynthia Courtlandt. I think I'm gonna like this episode, especially the storyline with Dottie/Tad/Hillary. See, Tad was falling in love with Dottie, but then he met Phoebe's step-daughter Hilary and started liking her. Dottie sensed this so she stop using birth control and got pregnant by Tad. They were married, but then Dottie miscarried, but she kept that from Tad. Tad was so much in love with Hilary that Dottie left him, just when Hilary disappeared. Tad went to this woman (I'm guessing she was just a guest star, because I forgot the character's name) who works with Langley (Hilary's father). The woman told Tad that Langley and Hilary were gone on an archaeology dig in the Austrailian city of Whillabaloo. When Tad leaves, the woman calls Phoebe who asks if Tad was there. She then asks if he fell for the story. The woman says "Hook, line and sinker." Then we see Phoebe smiling evily, followed by the opening sequence. I cannot wait to see segment two! All of the Christmas episodes will be up for about two more weeks (or less than that), so everyone take your time in downloading them, and enjoy them!

The AMC/GH DVD will also have OLTL on it, and it will feature the most memorable weddings... it's sorta disappointing that it's all weddings and not other storylines, but it's better than nothing.
