I was deeply touched by this boys mother so wanting to find him and lay him to final rest. What cowards these bikers are. I hope they all get theirs like that one miserable biker that is suspected of having killed this poor boy. At least he got his ugly self killed and he won't be torturing any more families.

The young man that got killed by bikers was Gus Hoffman. Gus had just got done restoring his Harley Davidson motorcycle and took it out for a test ride and was never seen again. Gus's mother has gone to biker hangouts asking around if anyone had seen her son, but no one would talk. When a certain biker had died, biker people started talking, saying that Gus was tortured to death. Gus's mom, as far as I know, hasn't found her son's body and this happened 25 years ago. I feel so sorry for Gus's family, not knowing where Gus is.

That's right. I sure hope some truth is found out at some point and this mother can find some peace.

This case was so sad, I had forgotten all about it. Anyone recall WHERE this case took place?

It was in San Jose, California. I wrote a poem about two years ago for Gus. It is very sad that he was so young and innocent.
It's just a guess...but I think his remains are near that house where the bikers took him. Is it just my imagination, or have most of the biker gangs become extinct? I remember that they were still around during the 1980's when I was growing up...but it seems that the gangs have disappeared like shadows. |

Hey Eyes...biker gangs still exist, I happen to live near a couple of areas where they frequent. I think they lie low these days and I dont think they feel free enough to "take over towns" like on shows like Knightrider (heehee). Its too bad bad bikers gave bikers in general a bad wrap. I wonder if there is a Gus website set up by his family or...??? I will poke around. Thats cool you wrote a poem for him. I bet his mom would love to know that people, strangers, care about the son she cant find.

Eyes of the Nile, I was wondering if you could post the poem that you wrote about Gus Hoffman. I would love to read it.

Dear UM Fan and friends,
I will indeed post the poem here- please give me a few days to get it posted. I have a couple of exams tomorrow, and tonight I've been busy with E-mails and what have you. But I will try to remember to post it ASAP. Thank you for asking. Take care. -Nile |

Looks like his last post ever was 03-22-2005. This was all before my time here on the board but perhaps their disappearance is an Unsolved Mystery unto itself?

I have always admired Gus' mother for what all she did to find out the truth about what happened to her son on that fateful day. Those bikers are such pieces of crap.
I'd love to lock them in a room along with the blind river killer and let them all just do society a huge favor and do away each other.
