Default A Christmas Story

I absolutely LOVE this movie. I know this has been talked about before, but that's not really my point. Well, I've always wondered what Peter Billingsley (Ralphie) looks like now and I never knew..... until this morning. In the newspaper there was a little article from associated press about the 20 anniversary DVD. It had a picture of him in front of a poster of the movie taken yesterday at some party. My first impression when I saw his picture now is- He' HOT!! I was TOTALLY shocked! First it didn't really look like him, but then I could see his eyes were exactly the same as when he was little. He has the most blue eyes I've ever seen in my life. If you want to see what he looks like now tomorrow night inbetween the 24 hours of the movie on TNT they will have him and the other stars talking about it.

Oh, look I found a picture! It's from the 20th anniversary party on December 5th. Peter Billingsley doesn't look very good in this picture, but I think that Schwartz and Scut Farcus are pretty good looking (OMG, did I just say Scut Farcus is good looking?!)

L-R: R.D. Robb (Schwartz), Ian Petrella (Randy- does not look like him at all!!), Peter Billingsley(Ralphie), Bob Clark (director), Scott Schwartz (Flick) Zack Ward(Scut Farcus)

Scut is lookin' real good these days, and Peter Billingsley is handsome! Thanks for sharing this picture of them.

Hey, TheHappyBurgerMeister, I totally agree with you, I love this movie, too. When TBS shows 24 hours of it on Christmas Eve, we'll be watching something else, and at commercial turn on TBS, see what part is showing. We recite lines, I say "Frag-il-lay" instead of 'Fragile', oh, Fudge, etc. One of my neighbor's has dogs that remind me of the Bumpus' dogs, and everytime I hear them bark, I keep thinking "Sons of bitches, Bumpus'"!!

There was an article in TV Guide last Christmas about what the cast was doing these days. The kid who played Flik started hanging out with people in the adult film industry, and got involved a little with porn, at first, just being a background player, then somebody decided to make him a star of his own porn movie. Because of this, he's now finding it hard to get parts in mainstream acting. I didn't read that in TV Guide. There was an E! True Hollywood Story on him.

Darrin McGavin(the old man) is getting up there in age and hasn't been doing too well health-wise lately.

The last thing I really remember seeing Melinda Dillon(Mother)in was "Magnolia" a few years back. I can remember first seeing her in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" way before I started watching a Christmas Story. In fact, in that TV Guide article, she was saying that at first her agent told her not to take the role of the mother because it would hurt her career. Funny how things worked out now.

Yes, I also, agree that Peter Billingsley still has those big blue eyes. His hair's a bit dark, more of a dirty blond. I'd like to see what the kid who played Randy looks like now, because he was so cute as a kid.

By the way, I get quite a few catalogs in the mail, and this year, some of them have started selling a replica of the leg lamp(the old man's MAJOR AWARD) for $49.99.

Oops, put my post in before I saw the current cast photo. I also forgot that Zack Ward was on "Titus".

I'm watching it right now. Well, more like listening to it while I'm doing other things. And reciting the lines, as usual. Geez, I'm so sad!

I like how they got some of the cast members to talk about the movie. R.D. Robb, the one who played Schwartz, said that to this day, people come up to him and say "You're the 'triple-dog-dare-you' guy"!

I've been flipping back and forth between that and It's a Wonderful Life... and reciting all the lines myself.

Hey, actually he is in the picture. He's the one wearing the black glasses and black suit and tie. It does not look like him at all! Maybe if he didn't have the glasses on it would look more like him.

There was an E! True Hollywood Story on Scott Schwartz (Flick)? I never knew about that one. I would love to see that show.
