There was a show on Nick that I used to love. It must've been on in the mid to late 80's, maybe early 90's. I'm thinking that it was about a mall or department store after hours and things coming to life. Also, I'm thinking it was a puppet show or something, not a cartoon. Please help me remember this show! Thank you.

The show you're thinking about is Today's Special, the show ran from 1981-1987. In the department store, there was a mannequin named Jeff who would come alive during the night. In addition, there was also a character who was the store's display designer named Jodie and two puppets: a talking mouse named Muffy and the stores night watchman, Sam.
