2 the girl who played Matts Neice Chelisie was real cute when she first came on then before she Left she Looked mighty differnt like a differnt actress playing her part.

3 why does Michael Keep Losing wives

4. was there any plans to keep the show running couple more years and if so would Amanda n Peter return or what u think wil happen.

5 was there any plans to bring Kimberly or Sidney back as ghost to haunt Melrose ,

1. Marica Cross (Kimberly) contract was up and didn't want to do the show anymore. After she left MP she became a real doctor.

Laura Leighton (Sydney) quit. All because of money I believe.

5. There are rumors that Sydney was going to come back in season 7, that she never died. The cult that Sydney was in in season 3, they kidnapped her getting there revenge on her. But Laura was busy or wasn't interested so they couldn't do the story.

I remember watching the E! True Hollywood story and actors of the show said it would have been great if Eve turned out to be Kimberly.

Also I am sure this show would have lasted longer if they kept the original actors like Kimberly, Sydney, Allison, and Jo. They are what kept fans watching. All these new characters suck except for Taylor.

Melrose Place jumped the shark when Kimberly and Sydney left the show.

I'm sorry off topic but they killed Matt off after he left the show?
I dont remember that, I thought he was boring so maybe it slipped my mind but how did they do it if he wasnt even on the show any longer?

Was that cause in real life the guy who plays Matt at the time was dating (later married) Laura Leighton? Just thought maybe they killed him off since he dated/married an actress that quit on the show over money

Matt was killed off a year after he left simply for storyline purposes. His mother gave Amanda a journal he had been keeping that contained secrets that Matt knew about his neighbors, and this led to the whole Eve plot.

Laura Leighton (Sydney) did leave over money. The producers tried to get her back about a year after she left, but when they contacted her, she was committed to a multiple-episode guest appearance on "90210".

Losing so many characters at the end of the fifth season was fatal to the show. It's too bad the producers couldn't gradually phase new people in during season 5, rather than bringing on so many new people at once. Also, the new characters were a little too old IMHO. The appeal of "Melrose" to me was all these characters starting out in life (cab driver, receptionist, waitress, intern, etc.) and still getting caught up in all these soap opera-like machinations. Once everyone became super-successful (ad agency vice president, hospital chief of staff, design studio owner), it was less interesting to me. Worst new character: Coop. What a humorless jackass! Did that guy have any redeeming qualities? I kept waiting for him to get what he deserved, but he never did.

I don't mean to nitpick, but please with the grammer? At least put periods in your sentences.

Melrose was great at its peack, but like all shows that are so outrageous, it had to keep trying to top itself and it never could. The need to become more and more outrageous led to some very, very bad plots and new characters, little of which actually worked for the series.

1 is why did Kimberly n Sidney Leave. Melrose could of lasted Longer if they stayed on for couple more years: Marsha Cross who played Kimberly left for the final time because she felt she had done everything she could with the character and that the show had run its course. Laura Leighton who played Sydne left for money reasons, she had become truly one of the leads on the show, aside from Heather Locklear and asked for more money. when Fox denied her she left the show.

2 the girl who played Matts Neice Chelisie was real cute when she first came on then before she Left she Looked mighty differnt like a differnt actress playing her part.: No it was the same actress, Katie Wright the whole time, she previously appeared on Aaron Spellings 1-season soap, Malibu Shores which starred a pre-felicity, Keri Russell.

3 why does Michael Keep Losing wives: He's a scheming, selfish, womanizing jerk.

4. was there any plans to keep the show running couple more years and if so would Amanda n Peter return or what u think wil happen: No Melrose Place had run its course and the ratings were slipping, very fast and Spelling Productions and Fox mutually agreed that it was time to end it. (this was 1 before both 90210 and Party of Five were to end).

5 was there any plans to bring Kimberly or Sidney back as ghost to haunt Melrose: Not that i know of, but its possible that it was thought of at one point. Anything seemed to go in Melrose Place.

please answe these for me would really mean a lot

thanks [/B][/QUOTE]

Wow you're in the minority there. most people agree that the first season of Melrose Place was GOD AWFUL and that it became much better when it became a full-out soap... thank lord for Heather Locklear.

I like that first season as well. It was not as exciting as the other seasons to come but it was good.

BTW, I know one of the posters posted that Jane was Ok but a little boring, but most characters were just plain and simple people the first season. Josie Bisset much like the viewers were fed up with how her character was not fighting back and being pushed around and she demanded that the producers make changes in her character. You kind of notice during the end of season 3 when she pushed Amanda to the floor and managed to get her career back on track. She also duped her sister's presidency from her own company. Season 4, you see the change in her:

She lost some scruples
She decked Jo across the face
She used naive ex hubby Michael to get back her fiancee
She bashed a vase across Micahel's head
She blackmailed Sidney
She ruined her ex-fiancee's business and career
She was raped by her ex-fiancee but plotted with her sister through blackmail to kill him
She embezzled money through her ex-fiancee Richard's company

I just wish she was able to deck Kimberly across the face a couple of times. Season 5:

She stalked Jake and Alison
She threw bricks through Alison's window
She slashed Alison's tires

I was glad they made these changes. She was my favorite character. She became weaker towards the end of season 2 with that whole inheritance storyline because at the beginning of season two she was hitting Michael below the belt during the divorce storyline and during the middle of the season she was shoving her sister in the complex pool. Go Jane! I missed her when she left the show but was estatic when she came back during the last season.
