Default I wonder....

What Freddie's favorite Christmas song was,
and if he ever watched those santa clause specials as a kid, which one he liked???
Any ideas on this

Lightbulb I don't know what Freddie might have listened to, but....

...I recently rediscovered this song, and even though it was released after he left us (by the Carpenters in 1978), I think it says something he might have felt that last Christmas--and that we might still say to him if we could:

Greeting cards have all been sent
The Christmas rush is through
But I still have one wish to make
A special one for you

Merry Christmas, darling
We're apart, that's true
But I can dream
And in my dreams
I'm Christmassing with you

Holidays are joyful
There's always something new
But every day's a holiday
When I'm near to you

The lights on my tree
I wish you could see
I wish it every day
The logs on the fire
Fill me with desire
To see you and to say

That I wish you Merry Christmas
Happy New Year too
I've just one wish
On this Christmas Eve
I wish I were with you

Default another thought

As I was reading Mariposa's post I automatically thought of the Christmas song done by the Partridge family. Even though I know Freddie didn't sing this song and knowing how well Freddie could sing. I can picture Freddie as well as ( Luckymama) playing her guitar and sing this song as he walks along the streets of New York caroling!

"My Christmas card to you" - the Partridge family

INTRO:
To you and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through

I'm looking out my window at the softly falling snow
that dances in the early morning light
I got my guitar right before me, strummin' a beautiful sound
watching it a-comin' down, all around
on the fields and the farms and the road to town

And I'm thinkin' up a letter that I'm writin' in my head
a Christmas card to all the folks I love
Instead of lettin' the postman bring it, I decided I'd rather sing it
especially for you, for you

To you and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through

BREAK:

May your life be filled with sunshine, may your every wish come true
May you find the sweet fulfillment in everything you do
May your days be blessed with the very very best
both now and the whole year through
it says so in my Christmas card to

You and all your family, your neighbors and your friends
May all your days be happy with a joy that never ends
May peace and love surround you
at Christmas time and all the whole year through
at Christmas time and all the whole year through

Talking

Oooo, Suz, I love that thought of going around Christmas caroling with Freddie, playing our guitars and singing. I wouldn't care what we sang if I got a chance to harmonize with him!

I happen to hear "Winter Wonderland" on the radio yesterday while I was laying down for a nap.... I could picture Freddie and I in that song very well!

over the ground lies a mantle of white
a heaven of diamonds shine down through the night
two hearts are thrillin in spite of the chill in the weather
love knows no season, love knows no clime
romance can blossom any old time,
here in the open we're walking and hoping together

sleighbells ring, are you list'nin?
in the lane snow is glist'nin
a beautiful sight
we're happy tonight
walkin' in a winter wonderland!

gone away is the bluebird
here to stay is the new bird
he sings a love song
as we go along
walkin' in a winter wonderland!

in the meadow we can build a snowman
then pretend that he is parson brown
he'll say, "are you married?"
we'll say, "no, man!
but you can do the job when you're in town!"

later on we'll conspire
as we dream by the fire
to face unafraid
the plans that we made
walkin' in a winter wonderland!

in the meadow we can build a snowman
and pretend that he's a circus clown
we'll have lots of fun with mr. snowman
until the other kiddies knock him down!

when it snows, ain't it thrillin'
though your nose gets a chillin'?
we'll frolic and play
the eskimo way
walkin' in a winter wonderland!
walkin' in a winter wonderland!

As for Christmas shows, I bet he liked the Grinch and Charlie Brown's Christmas!

Aw. That Carpenters song -- I swear, that song has made me think of Freddie every year since it was released back in 1978. It really touches a nerve with me.

I always liked that PF one, too.

I remember that Carpenters song. I think it was origionally out in 1972. I bet Freddie liked RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER, & I bet he cried during the touching parts...
