Default Will TAC ever be released on DVD?

Hey all,

Think this show will ever be released on DVD? Seems doubtful, since the entirety of 'Three's Company' is not even guaranteed. I think the only way we'll have a chance of seeing this show released is if 'Three's Company' does well in DVD sales, resulting in all of the seasons being released.

So folks, start buying up those TC DVDs. It's the only way I think this show has a chance of seeing release, as well as the other spin-off 'The Ropers'. I'm not sure if either show was good or not (it's been a LONG time since I've seen them) but I'm a completist and I have to have everything. For starters, I bought a copy of Season one for myself and 3 extras to give as presents for Christmas.

We can do this...

Default I think it will

DVD Box sets are getting much less expensive to make then they used to be, so I think eventualy they will release it on dvd even if they dont make as many box sets as 3s company, dvds it used to be high priced and you could only buy pre recorded ones, now you can buy your own DVD RWs (recorders) for about $160.00 is the lowest ive seen they may be lower, but you can record your own shows now and put in scene selections as well, and with the PC label downloads you can buy you can make your own labels and it can look profesional, one day they may even have a process as you order company example, you place the order pay the price of dvd set and shipping and when they recieve the money they simply record the dvd set for you that way they dont make an expensive guess to see if it sells in the store.

Default Three's A Crowd and The Ropers - Full Series

In regards to whether Three's A Crowd (or The Ropers for that matter) will ever be released on DVD, I have every episode of both series if anybody is interested in obtaining copies on either VHS or DVD. If so, I can be reached at hitman-brent@shaw.ca

Three's a Crowd has a very good chance of seeing release actually. The Three's Company DVDs have been selling really well, so much so that Pav says that Anchor Bay is seriously considering them for release. Patricia McCormack, who played Ann on The Ropers, had an interview segment that was scratched off the Three's Company DVDs. Fans speculate that this may mean it's been reserved for a possible upcoming DVD release of The Ropers, which would probably come out as a combined Season 1/Season 2 release.

Surely if The Ropers are close to coming out (hopefully anyway, nothing has been confirmed), then surely Three's a Crowd can't be far away. They'll probably wait to see how well The Ropers sell. Or maybe they'll wait until after the Season 8 release of Three's Company, but surely fans of John Ritter, as well as Three's Company, will buy it. Maybe not as many as would buy a DVD set of Three's Company, but there is potential money to be made by releasing both spinoffs.

Mention is made of The Ropers throughout the text and extras of the Season 4 DVD release of Three's Company. It almost seems as if they're trying to draw interest in the spinoff; otherwise why mention it that many times? Clearly the spinoff had to be mentioned at least once to explain why Norman Fell & Audra Lindley had exited Three's Company, as well as to explain Don Knotts as the new landlord, but there was more depth to the discussion of the spinoff than just that. I think if they were against releasing the spinoff, mention of it would have been avoided as much as possible for fear of drumming interest in it.

Also, The Ropers had appearances by Richard Kline as Larry, not to mention the original Three's Company trio. That alone will be a draw for fans of Three's Company who may not have thought of buying the spinoff simply for The Ropers themselves.

I think it's good that we'll see The Ropers within a year or so, and if that show can come out without that much of a John Ritter connection (except for his guest appearance), then surely Anchor Bay and DLT will consider Three's a Crowd a potential money maker.

Both spinoffs will not sell as well as Three's Company, but even if they did half as well in sales, it means a profit will have been made, and I think Anchor Bay & DLT know that. There's money to be made and they won't pass that up. Lucky for us, eh?

Since Three's a Crowd is really the 9th Season of Three's Company, it's a strong possibility that it will be released on DVD

Three's a Crowd will do well on DVD because John Ritter will be on the front cover. Now far as the Ropers, i'm not sure

Default Three's a Crowd and The Ropers on DVD

This was posted on www.tvshowsondvd.com on 1/05/05:

Three's Company - More Three's Company? How about The Ropers and Three's A Crowd? If you want 'em on DVD, read this!
Posted by David Lambert

TVShowsOnDVD's regular correspondent, Pavan Badal, has updated his Three's Company website (Jack's Bistro is the site name) with news about upcoming plans for season sets of that show, and also talks about what it will take to get the spin-offs (The Ropers and Three's A Crowd) to DVD. Here's Pavan's message, posted yesterday at his site:

January 4, 2005 - Happy New Year everyone! We are entering our 7th season online here at Jack's Bistro. I am very proud of that. I have a TON of news to share with everyone today...

...As we all know, season 4 is slated for May 3. I can't release the special features just yet. So keep checking back on that and the cover art. I do have some news on the DVDs. I spoke to a good source and found out that seasons 5-8 has a very good chance of making it on DVD -- just don't forget to thank Anchor Bay for bringing us seasons 1-4 and tell them to make sure we get every season on DVD! Also, they have not licensed the spin-offs yet. All fans must do this -- email Anchor Bay and tell them we want the spin-offs in addition to every season of Three's Company on DVD! So, email Anchor Bay by clicking here and also email DLT Entertainment, so they can license it to them. This is a must guys. We want everything Three's Company on DVD to complete our 222 half hour set!

...Just make sure everyone emails Anchor Bay about the spin-offs -- it is a must!

We'll be sure to send off our e-mails to both Anchor Bay and to DLT right away, and we urge other fans to do the same! It would be a good time to get the spin-offs confirmed for release. To me, it seems like The Ropers is a no-brainer, especially since the snooty neighbor was played by none other than Jeffrey Tambor, who is super-hot right now on Arrested Development. Plus, we need the cross-over episodes where the kids went to visit Stanley and Helen in their new digs.

As for Three's A Crowd, we certainly want that one, too! It also features a cast member in common with Arrested Development in the form of Jessica Walter, by the way. But it's the concluding chapter of the Jack Tripper story, and we want it all, don't we? Anchor Bay can release it day-and-date with Three's Company - Season 8 and I'd pick them both up at the same time! Tell them you want it, too!

Stay tuned, and as soon as that cover art and extras can be posted for Season 4, we'll have that right to you. Thanks as always to Pavan for his excellent help.

It all depends on how the sales of TC's goes, I guess.

Since I have seen 19 eps of the Ropers, i wouldn't be in that big of a rush to buy it. same thing with three's a crowd. Now if those spinoffs came out on DVD in 2002 i would have been the first in line
