Default Brady House (revisited)

I think the Brady House was a real house. There are so called blueprints that have been posted or linked on this site before, but they are incorrect. It gives the impression that the bedrooms could not overlook the backyard. But they do. The family room has an angled wall, not the 90 degree angle in the drawing. In fact it appears to be less than 45 degrees. The small window in that room looks into the backyard, which indicates that the back yard is angled also. It is not on the left side of the house. Much of it would have to be towards the right.

I've never seen a full shot of the upstairs hallway. It could angle to the left as soon as you enter it. There are also angles upstairs. The girls' room is at an angle to the rest of the hallway, unlike the diagram.

I'm not saying it's located in a neighborhood somewhere. It's probably indoors, inside a studio. But I think the people from the show or the studio have been trying to divert snooping fans away from it by publishing false facts about the house's design.

Today I saw the episode about Greg and Marcia fighting over who gets the attic. This was like the dream episode I've been waiting for to see the house more clearly.

There is a direct shot of Greg standing in his parents' room talking to them. He is standing in the doorway. Behind him you can see the other end of a long hallway, which looks like the girls' room on the right and the attic on the left.

The hallway you see from the downstairs is parallel to the stairs. It's just a brief hallway that leads to the main hallway with the bedrooms. In one scene Marcia is called from the attic downstairs to answer the phone. You see her walking towards that short hallway.

The boys' room, girls' room and attic all overlook the backyard, most of which is directly behind the house. If the parents have a window in their bathroom, it would overlook the backyard. The small window in the family room also looks directly into the backyard. The sliding glass window in the family room probably looks directly towards the side where the driveway is.

The outside shot of the other (real) house looks similar to what the inside house might look like, if the front door were on the side of the house. But this house is only 1 and 1/2 stories. The Brady house is 2 and 1/2 stories. The arch of the roof looks like the arch of the ceiling in the attic, except that it would be perpendicular. The perpendicular roof shape would fit a more traditional house (not the ranch style), such as the Leave it to Beaver house.

The angles that I guessed in my original post are just added to the corners of the house, not affecting the overall shape.

The width of the upstairs would also indicate more rooms in the area behind the kitchen, such as Alice's room and the service porch room.

The episode about Greg stealing the school mascot (a goat) showed some good house shots. He was chasing the goat through the bedrooms while his mother was taking guests on a tour of the upstairs.

As it turns out, the parents' bedroom is kind of across from the boys' bedroom, not at the end of the hallway. But it does angle slightly so that it looks towards the girls's bedroom, which is also angled.

So when you walk up the stairs you are looking at the back of the parents' bedroom.
