I love the eps where we see the glimmer of teen angst such as with last night's eddie moving out ep. it's one of my faves, along with wally and marlene. i also love the earlier season chopper ep. and the one with the trashman's kids and andy, the drinking painter and jeff the homeless guy. i guess i just love how the cleavers deal with the real world poking its finger at their bubble. i always think they shine. the cleavers are truly wonderful people as characters and even though they seem pristine and untouched, these eps really show how they hold to their ideals even in a crazy world.
it's also interesting how the show goes from the show being about ward and june and their lovable scamp beav to a teen show dealing with beav and wally. very true to how real life is, how the parents seem to dominate the family psyche when there are small children and then teen angst seems to dominate later on. just my two cents happy holidays all you lovely people! and it's almost barbara's birthday, think it might be dec 22 frani

Many of the LITB episodes dealt with subjects that are still relevant today. Peer pressure, trouble at school, running away from home, learning to drive & sibling rivalry are things kids still cope with. It may be a different world now, but honesty, hard work, kindness and "doing the right thing" are just as important today as they were in the Cleaver household then. The Cleavers had a pretty tough bubble for the world to try & burst.
