Default Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Etc...

What age do you think kids should be told these characters don't really exist?

I think you should wait till the kid is atleast 7 or 8, because if you wait longer, they will probably end up get teased and other things by people, say at school or something. But I really think they should just believe till someone tells em' otherwise.

Until they stop believing in them..

but seriously, my brother told me at 2 santa and all that crap don't exsist, but I still told my mom I believed in them, that way i'd get the money for teeth and such. Kids need to smarten up. They can make some good money off of their parents lies.

When they're old enough to figure it out. My lil sister, I swear, I'll be upset when she finds out the truth b/c she's the baby of the family.

was talking to me,and he is so smart,He once out of
the blue said ''You know what,Santa Claus isn't real huh?.''

I was pretty young; the reason..My parnets woke me up screaming at each other on Christmas Eve while they were wraaping and placing the Christmas presents from "Santa" under the tree

I figured out Santa wasn't real for sure when I was about 8-9. My mom and dad were arguing over something they had to put together for my little brother.

I think most kids just figure it out for themselves. I don't think I ever really believed in that stuff. Even when I was really little.

That's the same exact way it is for me... I know they know I don't believe or anything...I don't think my parents are that stupid. They do still put Santa on the gift tags but just for fun.

I figured it out myself at about 9 I guess. I remember wanting him to be real so bad but I had huge doubts.

I think you should just let kids figure it out for themselves. Sometimes an older sibling or a friend will clue them in at about the right time. (Although, if the siblings are really close in age, sometimes they will tell the little brother or sister the truth when they are really young, just to be mean.) I was around 8 or 9 when I figured out Santa wasn't real. I remember it as being sort of traumatic! I had noticed the handwriting on the tags of items from "Santa" looked sort of familiar...(it was Mom's handwriting!) I think from that, I figured out that the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny were not real, either. Since I didn't lose my first tooth until I was 7 1/2, I didn't believe in the Tooth Fairy for very long, but I still faithfully put my teeth under my pillow til I was about 12, because I knew the "Tooth Fairy" (aka "Mom") would come through with some money!
