It's a terrific movie, and Donna Reed is great in it... (Mary Bailey was kinda too good for George, actually, but... )

Default wonderful life

Oh my gosh I love that movie. My favorite part is when "Mary" and "George" are in borrowed clothing from their fall in to the pool and singing Buffalo Girls Won't You Come Out Tonight and Dance by The Light of the Moon....sigh.......: )

Default "It's A Wonderful Life"...

...did absolutely nothing for Donna Reed's theatrical career. The film did very poorly at the box office in 1946 [it wasn't until it was constantly shown on TV did it become a "perennial Christmas favorite"], and Donna had to wait seven years before she was honored with an Academy Award for her performance in "From Here To Eternity" (1953). And even THAT couldn't help her movie standing! She had to wait for television before she became a "success".

Yes! Also, when George comes to visit her and they're both listening in on the phone. Two of my very favorite parts.

I adore this movie, I watch it every year and I thought Donna Reed was great!

Along with the original "Miracle on 34th Street," "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of
my favorite Christmas movies. I watch it every holiday season, too. Great film.
The chemistry between James Stewart and Donna Reed is an example of
inspired casting.

Thanks for the pics, Ohio8. I especially like the one of George talking Mary to death on the way home from the prom.

Cool A fine movie...

I think it's my favorite of hers. She was also in "The Caddy" starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, which had to be one of the most popular films that she appearred in, due to the huge success of M&L.

But Wonderful Life was her sweetest.
