Default You know you watch too much . . .

Brady Bunch when . . .
• Your 2 yr old, who doesn’t talk well, says “more Brady” at the end of the show
• Your 2 yr old sees a school year book with faces in squares and says, “Brady”
• Your 5 yr old predicts what will happen next in an episode he’s not seen before
• Your 5 yr old tries to make his little sister disappear
• Your 5 yr old climbs into the back of your van in the little space behind the back seat to be “like the Bradys”
• You start coming up with questions like
o How many episodes are there where no Bradys are in pajamas?
o How many of the Brady children cry in at least 1 episode?
o How many of the Brady actors had a relative appear in at least 1 episode?
• Your dinner conversation includes discussing this afternoon’s episodes
• The first time your 2 yr old says a first and last name together it’s “Bobby Brady”
• Your kids start calling “Bobby, Cindy” for no reason whatsoever (since watching the Grand Canyon episodes)
• Your 5 yr old wants to invite the Bradys to his next birthday party (after seeing “The Hero”)
• Your 6 yr old wants to buy a “new” car like the Bradys’ so he can sit in the back facing backwards.
• Your 6 yr old pretends to use a yardstick as a surfboard.
• You’re at your computer and your 2 yr old says, “I wanna see Bobby.”
• Your 2 yr old recognizes the Brady cast now as adults.
• Your 2 yr old understands enough of what is going on that when she sees the cigarettes fall out of Greg’s jacket, she says, “Uh oh. Big trouble.”
• When playing with a toy phone your 2 year old says, “Hi Greg” and sometimes talks to Peter and Bobby, too.
• When you tell your 6 yr old that you’re taking the trash out and he says, “But it’s a big world out there.” (It took me a while to figure out where he came up with that one.)
• As soon as your 2 yr old sees Bobby sell the hair tonic to Greg, she gets scared because she knows what’s coming: orange hair!
• At work you read a sentence with the names Todd, Scott, and Mark in it and think “There’s something about those names” and then realize that’s the names of brothers of Mike Lookinland, Barry Williams, and Christopher Knight.
• Your 6 yr old says that he wants to be shepherd in the Christmas program because their clothes are groovy. 12/16/03

...when you tear your room up looking for Kitty Carry-All.

...when you start wearing an orange shirt with purple bell bottoms.

...when you form a bubblegum rock band with your brothers and sisters.

...when your family begins to perform plays in your back yard.

...when you make your 6 year old daughter wear her hair in sausage girls

...when you go to the grocery store and start looking for "Safe" and "Best" in the laundry aisle

...when you suggest to your 12 year old son that a "neat" science project would be making a volcano

... when your 10 year old starts sneezing and you think she's probably just allergic to the new flea powder (but then you remember you don't own a dog OR a cat)

When you tell your boy/girlfriend you have to break your date because, 'Something suddenly came up!"

When you have a pay telephone in your house!

When your siniging the words to "Keep On!" in the middle of the night when you can't sleep!

When asked, what's for dinner? You say, "Pork shops and applesauz!"

When you have this obsessive urge to go cast fishing in the backyard!

When you call all your children by name in chronological age from oldest to youngest when you want them to do something!

When you notice that all of your kids always wake up all together, and at the EXACT same time, no matter what time of the day or night!

When you can't have a movie without popcorn!

When you are bored and doodling in school and shockingly you look down at your picture, and it's George Washington! AND you see your teacher's name and it says your teacher's name or a hippopotamus!" Uhhh Oh!

  • when you say "Far out!" or "Groovy!"
  • when you watch "The Monkees" and notice that Marcia's prom date is referred to as "David Jones" in the closing credits, shrugging as a result
  • when Davy Jones first comes to mind after someone speaks of the Monkees
  • when your favorite baseball player is Don Drysdale
  • when your favorite football player is either Deacon Jones or Joe Namath

You know you've seen too many reruns when you post the same thing twice in the same message!

It looks like you said "(cont.)" but instead of saying more you just duplicated what you had already said. It's probably way too late to go back and recollect what else you meant so say.

Nice to see that someone from that frat back is still active
