I only noticed that she had a New York accent from 1980-1983, and then she lost it in the 4th season. She doesn't have the accent anymore, but she really did.

Trane yourself, you can lose an acsent if you trane yourself.
What I mean when I say her voice has changed is it has gotten deeper. |

I worked with a voice coach to lose my accent when I was 19. It took about 6 months. It was a bunch of enunciation exercises. More than anything, it was being aware of how dialects differ, like how some people say "wash" and others say "warsh" - it makes you self-conscious. My coach used to make me recite poetry with marbles in my mouth. That helped a bit too. But to be honest with you, I pick up the accent of the people around me. I have my old accent back that I paid all that money to get rid of.

what kind of accent did you have in the 1st place

Nancy never really had a "NewYork" accecnt. Ya she was born in NewYork but at a young age she moved to californa. On FOL she had to fake a NewYork accent for tv. Well I hope that helps....And I hope this is what you guys were talking about.
