This is an episode that would go between season 4 and 5. Did you ever notice how Mark just stopped smoking and there was no mention of it at all? Here are a few sceenes from an episode where he is trying to quit.

*Mark and Becky are sat in the car, Mark lights up a cigarette*
Becky: Ugh, do you have to smoke? It stinks.
Mark: So.
Becky: It's bad for your health.
Mark: I'll live
*An ash strikes Marks leg and his jeans catch on fire, he doesn't notice*
Becky: Your on fire.
Mark: Not yet
*He leans in to kiss her*
Becky: No, Mark, your leg!
Mark: CRAP!
*He dumps his coke on himself*
Becky: I told you it was bad for your health.

*Mark is lying on the sofa of his apartment with a cigarette*
*From outside*
Becky: Mark, are you home?
*Whilst Becky is unlocking the door, Mark is looking around for a place to put his cigarette out. In a panic, he puts it in his mouth. A look of pain comes onto his face.*
Becky: There you are. Are you still up for tonight?
*Mark smiles and nods. Tears are starting to well up in his eyes from the pain.*
*Becky leaves the room to go into the bathroom.*
*Mark pulls the cigarette out of his mouth and throws it away*
Mark: Ow ow ow ow ow
*From the bathroom*
Becky: Is everything ok?
Mark: Uh hu.
*Mark downs a whole can of soda*

*In the Conner's kitchen*
Becky: We can't take the car tonight, it stinks of burning from last night.
Darlene: You could jump on Marks back and dangle a pack of cigarettes in front of him, he'll run you there.
Becky: Shut up Darlene, he's trying really hard to quit.
*Becky joins Mark in the front room*
Becky: How are you feeling now?
mark: Awful.
Becky: Do you want another patch?
Mark: Yeah.
*Becky hands him a packet of nicotene patches, he takes them. He rolls up his sleeve to reveal that his arm is covered with them. He puts another one on.*
Darlene: I'm going to the drug store, do you want me to see if there's some kind of patch to help you overcome nicotene patch addiction.
Mark: Eat me!
