I was just on this site (http://celebinfo.reallyconfused.com/.../l/000466.html) that lists Lucy as being included on the famous album cover of the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". However, other pages I've seen which list the names of those included on the cover do not include Lucy. Does anyone know whether she is or not? In my opinon, the following close-up of a section of the cover does look a lot like Lucy with dark hair, but it is listed as being Marlene Dietrich. I'm thinking that someone thought it looked like Lucy and made a mistake. However, I do know that she ended up on a Rolling Stones cover and threatened to sue them over it.

It sorta looks like Lucy, but it's probably Marlene. And that could be digitally messed with too. Makes me wish I had the album.

It's not Lucy. There'd be no reason for them to have included her. She's not the icon for British people that she is for Americans, and she's not really the sort of figure with relevance to what they were trying to do with that cover. Sorry!

Thanks. Although, in answer to your comment about them not being as big for the British people, the Stones are a British band and they included Lucy on their "Some Girls" album cover. But I guess you would know more about British pop culture than I do! Anyway, I see what you mean. I know that there's a lot of backstory behind the "Sgt. Pepper" cover.

I sorta remember some hoopla about this cover when it came out but it's so long ago, i can't really remember, it wasn't written up like the Stones lawsuit was. As for you Mickey, she is an icon for the entire world, minus YOU of course.

)) had a cover that was more about showing important influences and icons for the band, and for the culture that they were a part of. The Stones very much come from a different place.__________________ 46664 - Play Music - Fight AIDS |

I know you're right of course, but it was inspired by his kid mentionning the name and where did he get it? Then they added the LSD conotation to a child inspired song?

That song has been running through my head all weekend. Probably because I watched I Am Sam on Friday.
though. (the little girl in the movie was so cute)
