Question When Things Were Rotten Episode Question

Hi,

My husbands boss presented a trivia question to everyone regarding this TV show. So far no one has been able to get the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It was episode 7 Ding Dong, the Bell is Dead. In it Robin Hood and the merry men go to the castle to take back a bell. Here is the question we haven't found.

"What did Robin Hood give Little John to give him the energy to take the bell?"

Please feel free to e-mail me also if you can help.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Melanie

I don't think no one will be able to answer that question because it's a 28 year old show that has never been in syndication.

Sitcom Analyzer, I must correct you. When Things Were Rotten was in syndication in the late '80s - mid '90s, as with most Paramount owned short-lived series. Unfortunately, with having only 13 episodes, it wasn't picked up very often. I can only remember it being aired in 1990 on Ha! The Comedy Network and in 1996 on TV Land as part of their "Wonders of TV Land" block. Also, Paramount released some episodes on VHS, which you can still easily find at numerous online retailers such as Amazon.com.

Once again, a show like that is released on VHS while shows like Maude and Alice is not on VHS at all. Unbelievable

Default Answer to Little John's strength!

What gave Little John his strength so that he could carry the large bell in episode 7 of When Things Were Rotten? The answer is:
a) a pill created by government researchers (searching for a cure to the common cold) that gives weak men the strength of a thousand men (and turn a lamb into a lion!).... no, that was in Mr. Terrific
b) a blue liquid created in a forensic chemistry lab, which when taken gives men the power to fly ... no, that was in Captain Nice
c) a power bar! Yes... when Little John fails to lift the large bell, he realizes it's because he hasn't eaten. First, he grabs some food (specifically, a roasted chicken and then a turkey drumstick) from the King's banquet table, aided by Maid Marion. But even that's not enough. So Robin Hood gives Little John his favorite candy bar, a Nottingham Good 'N Nutty, and Little John's strength returns and our Merry Men steal away with the bell!
