Default David

I've been reading a lot of the posts here and looking at some Roseanne websites, and I'm really surprised that people don't like David more. When I was in high school and Roseanne was such a big hit, everyone just loved David. Even in my family, we would always comment how much of a stand-out he was. I remember my mom specifically commenting that everyone on the show was so good, but there was just something about David that made him remarkable. Johnny Galecki's portrayel of him was just so genuine. And he had the perfect, gentle voice and tone. There was always a subltety about him that made his lines so funny. He was more a typical teenager at first, but a lot of people seem to get angry at him later on for being so "wimpy". That doesn't really make sense to me. Yeah, he was timid, but he was still hilarious, and I think as time went on, he just became more and more nicer, but still hilarious. I especially loved it when he would outsmart Mark. Those two were so funny together. I loved it when when Mark was sick and everyone was avoiding him and making him feel bad, and David finally showed kindess to him, and Mark thanked him by kissing him on the mouth. LOL!! That was so great!! Anyway, I'm not saying anyone else has to like David, but like I said, I am just surprised, because my experiences with other Roseanne fans (and my opinion as well) is that David was definately one of the funniest characters on the show, and he was so different because he was so subtle when everyone else was more in-your-face.

I totally agree! Johnny Galecki was adorable, and the fact that he wasn't so in-your-face made him stand out and look really good acting with Sara Gilbert.

I always loved David. A lot of my favorite episodes are the ones that center around Darlene and David.

Don't even get me started, lol. He has got to be the ideal guy for any other girl without a Mark-like preference. David was so cute and giving, he has to be like a role-model for what every teenage girl went searching for in a relationship. I was in love with his character, and I still think he's adorable.

I have no idea why so many people hated him either. I mean, Mark had the looks, but David had the heart. Still to this day I watch the show looking foreward to episodes centering around Darlene and David, their well-paired relationship was a nice backround story to the series.

Yeah, David was cute. <3 <3

I like Darlene and David. I thought it was weird how on his second episode he wore a leather jacket and acted tough but then in the eighth season he was wimpy but i still liked him.

I agree David was the nice one and Mark had the looks especially when Becky1 started to date him

Mark was a good actor and I liked his character, but I dont know any man in his teens that will let his girlfriend order him around like that. My favorite ep's revolve around him and Darlene but I think they should have made him stand up to the others especially when DJ beat him up

In episode Lanford Daze David tells Darlene he is not a vegetarian but in Millions from Heaven Roseanne jokes about Darlene and David being vegetarian. Is this because they live together?

I also like David even though he seemed to get wimpy as time went on. He was still a really hilarious guy. I think he was needed to balance Darlene.
