Lightbulb DVD plan *might* come together

From TVshowsondvd.com

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=898

A fellow named Colin, who runs a U.K.-based website called "The A-Team Shrine", put up a post there that Universal was looking into plans to release The A-Team - Season 1 onto DVD:

Looks like there *will* be a release of season boxsets for The A-Team, although this may be restricted to America. I got an e-mail from a guy at Universal (America) this morning, which started:

Colin,

I am coordinating resources for the release of "The A Team" Season One for Universal. I have a question about some interviews I am putting together:

This looks good. The guy actually answered his own question a moment later by looking around the site, but I think I might e-mail him anyway... just to find out a little more information/ point him in the right direction.

Yeah!!

We realize that this is *very* thin info to go on, and we don't even have proof that this person who wrote to Colin is who they say they are. If true, though, then this is great news, and surely this - along with recent Quantum Leap news - bodes well for Universal getting back-on-track with TV-to-DVD releases in the aftermath of their merger with NBC.

Stay tuned, because we'll be right on top of this story as more information surfaces.

This is obviously a rumor and should not be treated as fact until it's official but I thought maybe this would be a great thread to discuss what you guys would think of an A-Team DVD release. Having been a fan of this show since it aired on TV Land, I think it would be awesome, especially if it were a Season-By-Season set.

Thumbs up It's official

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=1282

Universal Home Video has announced that The A-Team: Season 1 will be heading to DVD on June 8th, the same day as Quantum Leap. This 4 disc set contains the 14 episodes comprising season 1 - over 11 hours of material - for $59.95 SRP. Specs include a 1.33:1 picture with an English Dolby Digital Mono (2.0) soundtrack and English, French and Spanish captions. No bonus features have been announced, but as we know from the Quantum Leap announcement, that doesn't mean the set won't contain any.

Disc Breakdown:
Disc 1 - 3 Hours 12 Minutes
Mexican Slayride (1)
Mexican Slayride (2)
Children of Jamestown
Pros and Cons

Disc 2 - 3 Hours 14 Minutes
A Small and Deadly War
Black Day at Bad Rock
The Rabbit Who Ate Las Vegas
The Out-of-Towners

Disc 3 - 3 Hours 15 Minutes
Holiday in the Hills
West Coast Turnaround
One More Time
Till Death Do Us Part

Disc 4 - 1 Hour 36 Minutes
The Beast From the Belly of a Boeing
A Nice Place to Visit

We also have this mini version of the cover art. Hopefully something more will be available soon.

Thanks to Tom Woodward for letting us know about

I can't wait for this! I have part of Season 1 on videcassette that I got from Columbia House Video a few years ago, but this is much better.

The same day as Quantum Leap My poor wallet
