Default Best picture Oscar winners: 1990-1994

Out of these five classic movies, my favorite was definitely Schindlers List! The first time I saw this movie, I was amazed! It did not seem like a film that was made in the 90's. It felt like I was watching one of those old 30's, or 40's black & white classics. This movie was ranked as the ninth greatest film of all time, and was the only 90's film to even make the top 20, and in my opinion it definitely deserved that honor. My second choice of the five is Forrest Gump. Out of these five movies, which did you all think was the best?

Schindler's List without a doubt.

One of my top ten best movie theater experiences.

Silence Of The Lambs.

artistically Dances With Wolves and Schindler's List were "better" movies, but in terms of faves, SOTL is an all time favorite for me.

Silence of the Lambs. It is one of only three films ("It Happened One Night" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" being the others) to sweep all five of the major Oscars. The five major Oscars are Best Picture (Of course), Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Actress. A very rare feat to accomplish.

Forrest Gump and Unforgiven are probably my favorites from this list. But I have to tip my hat to Schindler's List as being the best of these years, and probably the 1990's altogether. Great filmmaking and storytelling by Mr. Spielberg.

Forrest Gump and Silence of the Lambs for me, though I've seen the others and feel they certainly deserved to win.

I've seen them all and love them all, but Schindler's List was incredible. I saw it at the theater with my mother, and took my husband three days later.

I couldn't shake that movie for at least a week.

Runnerup: Unforgiven.

I don't know why I didn't just ask what the Best picture of the 1990's was. Originally I was going to list each film from 1990, to 1999, but for some reason I changed my mind, and only listed five. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to ask what the best film from 1995 to 1999 was in a future post.
