Default Whitney Houston Says Husband Struck Her

Whitney Houston Says Husband Struck Her

Wed Dec 10,12:24 AM ET

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Police considered Tuesday whether to pursue charges against singer Bobby Brown (news), after officers responded to a domestic abuse call by his wife Whitney Houston (news) at their home in this Atlanta suburb.

Officers arrived at the couple's home Sunday evening and found Houston with a cut upper lip and a bruised cheek, Fulton County Police spokesman Kurtis Young said.

Houston told officers that Brown hit her in the face during an argument.

Young said that by the time officers arrived at the home, Brown had left for the airport to catch a flight to California.

Police said they were trying to reach Brown to get his side of the story. No one had been arrested in the incident.

Brown was released after serving seven days in DeKalb County Jail in August for violating his probation for a 1996 drunken driving conviction.

The singer also served 26 days in a Florida jail in 2000 for an earlier probation violation.

I've never cared too much for Bobby Brown. There's something about him I just don't like. I'm really suprised that marriage has lasted as long as it has.

I don't think she would have had all of her "problems" if she hadn't married that man.

Bobby Brown got the bad end of the deal. He had hit records before he Married her.

Hmmm... That makes it sound like Whitney DIDN'T know success before she linked up with him.

Uhh... Whitney Houston was a HUGE international star with HUGE success long before she married Bobbie Brown. Many people, myself included, had never even heard of Brown before they became a couple.

Her career/star quality was bigger than his, in my opinion.

They need to go ahead and divorce and Whitney Houston needs to come out with some new music.

I'd feel sorry for Whitney, if she was smarter and divorced him. I doubt this is the first time he's hit her.

They were both big in the late 80s, but Whitney's carreer sky-rocketed even furthur after she married Bobby. It began with her role in The BodyGuard and the album that followed.

Bobby's carreer collapsed after he married Whitney.

Not really. They were both big when they married.

Whitney was the bigger name by far, but Bobby WAS one of the biggest artists of his time too. There was a point in 1989-1990 where everything he released became a top 5 single. DON'T BE CRUEL was also the Billboard #1 album of 1989. All in all, Whitney had the bigger career before the wedding, but Bobby's popularity in the late 80's cannot be downplayed.

This doesn't surprise me that he hit her. Bobby has really let me down. I used to be the biggest New Edition fan back in the day & i was also a big fan of Bobby's music when he went solo. I still think he can sing but i wish he would leave the drugs alone. I know the guys in New Edition gotta be shaking their heads at Bobby. Whitney does need to divorce him.

Isiahthomas, what's up? I agree Whitney should divorce him, but do you actually think Bobby Brown can still sing?? You ever see the HBO miniseries, "The Corner"? Bobby's starting to remind me of one of those crackheads.

I've seen The Corner before on HBO. LOL@Bobby reminds u of one of those crackheads in that movie. TK Carter who played Sean Nelson's father in The Corner really looked bad in that movie. TK cracked me up as T-Bone of the singin group The Hightops on Steve Harvey's show. Yeah Bobby can still sing. I think he sounded good on Ja Rule's Thug Lovin song. His teeth looked kinda funny in the video though LOL.
