Smile "My Immortal..."

Have you heard the radio version of Evanescence's "My Immortal" yet? I think it is absolutely incredible -- so very different from the album version, but so reminiscent of the live performance of it. The song is so sad, so beautiful. If you've heard the two versions, which do you think is the better?

Actually, there's 3 versions

The first one ever recorded is only Amy Lee and the piano. It appeared on their first album, Origin

The second is the one on Fallen. It includes violins.

The third is of course, the radio edit. This one is my favorite. I got to see them perform this live when I saw them in concert!

I looooove this version. It sounds exactly like it did live...ahh so pretty. But it kinda upsets me that they changed it just for radio play because the original version wasn't marketable enough.

Oh, Trading Mooses, I love how much of a dedicated fan you are -- you have lyrics of Evanescence's "Exodus" in you signature and a pic of Amy Lee "falling forever!" Nice to know that there are people who do things that I would do as well! Meanwhile, I am still waiting to hear it on the radio! Haven't yet, but heard it on their site.

Yes. We're even. Hooray.

Well MAYBE it's because you don't have an Evanescence avatar/sig like me. Oh I win.

"My Immortal" is my favorite Evanescence song...so far. The video is awesome, too.

I hate saying this because she is practically what makes the band, but I think that Amy Lee ruins Evanescene's greatness. The group has great lyrics, and music, but her voice irks me like no other. It sounds like non-stop whining.
