Default Here is the real reason AITF Fans should be excited about the show going to TV LAND

Here is an example of the episode length of the All in the Family Episode-"Jeffersons Move Up" on N@N and TV LAND

On N@N that episode was 20:20 long

On TV Land that episode was 23:13 long

Good reason to be glad the Show is headed to TV Land. I'm recording over all my N@N eps once the show begins on TV Land

Say that's great news, SA. That seems to me to be the closest we'll get to the eps being in their entirety. They whack up all shows now with so many commercials and only about 7 minutes of actual comedy before they break away for....another block of ads. The actual show length seems to be about 20 minutes now. And the money they get paid!! Caroll O'Connor would be in hog heaven with the salary!

Plus TV LAND shows the tag scenes of All in the Family. I never knew that AITF had Tag scenes until i started watching the show on TV LAND. N@N shows NO tag scenes

So TV LAND cuts 15-40 seconds per episode. Not a bad deal.

Nope... not compared to N@N and many other networks with other shows...

BUT, when was that TV Land episode you have TAPED? Because they used to air the show unedited like in 1998 and 1999, then they aired edited versions, like Nick@Nite. I think when TV Land airs it in January, it'll be the same versions Nick@Nite uses, with possibly the tags, but not the unedited ones. Because the standard now is only 21-22 minutes.

I recorded it in 2003. I was so glad to see a longer version of that episode the Jeffersons Move Up. On N@N, Louise and George are only at their old house for a second but on the TV LAND version they are at the house much longer before they leave for Queens.

Unfortunately, I think Pav is right. Networks now want more commericals and therefore edit more and more out of shows. I'd be very surprised if AITF on TV Land is unedited...

Well if there are no Tag scenes on TV LAND then i won't be watching. I wouldn't see the point of the show leaving N@N if there are no Tags shown by TV LAND

That's because you recorded that episode during the CBS time warp. That night, all the shows were shown uncut, just like they were back in '75. So the episode you recorded is not the same edited episode TVLand has shown in the past when it used to air.

Hm....when did you record it then? Because it's the only time this year I thought that The Jeffersons aired since it's left TVLand...unless it was from a box set.
