Default Best New Artist

These are the Grammy nominees, now it's your turn to pick. What's your choice for Best New Artist of The Year?

This is probably the only category in which I disagree with. Why in the hell would they nominated Fountains of Wayne when in fact, they are not good but only one hit wonders, they aren't exactly new, their debut came out during the mid-90s.

What happened to Jason Mraz, or Stacie Orrico?! I don't like Stacie, but honestly, her album is way better than Fountains of Wayne.

there is a lot more to Fountains Of Wayne than "Stacy's Mom" Just because you hate that song doesn't mean their other stuff isn't good

I voted Evanescence. I've liked Fountains Of Wayne since Radiation Vibe (yes kids, they were around a long time before Stacy's Mom came out), but I don't think it's right nominating them as a NEW ARTIST when they've been around longer than Justin, Britney, Christina, Beyonce and the sort. Hell, their first album came out when the top albums were No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom and Alanis' Jagged Little Pill.

Lisa Marie Presley, who should of been nominated. Not like it matters, but she deserves it more than Sean Paul. wtf are they smoking?

Ugh, you just made this list look ****tier by reminding me that Lisa didn't get nominated. Sean Paul?! Fountains of Wayne?!... this list is a joke. LMP could of easily replaced one of them.

No Doubt were nominated for best new artists when Tragic Kingdom took off, and they had been out for 5-6 years already. So bascially it means new mainstream success.

^The same thing happened to Kid Rock in 1999, but technically speaking, they shouldn't have been nominated. If FOW were nominated, why weren't Good Charlotte, or AFI?... They didn't reach mainstream success until this year, and unlike FOW, they actually had an impact on music this year.

Its kind of annoying that she goes unrecognized just because shes not another Britney Spears...the people in charge of nominations need a lesson on what real music is. Not this crap thats thrown into your face and labeled as good just because its all over the radio. ****ing facist bastards. as she would say, "those who can do, those you can't, criticize"...kinda fits.

curiously, have you heard any FOW songs besides Stacy's Mom? all 3 of their albums have gotten rave reviews, and while Stacy was their first top 40 hit, they've had a loyal following who've been there since the first album in 1996. All three cd's are great and not everything is as corny as Stacy's Mom. I personally think it sucks that that song became a hit for them because it gives people the wrong impression of the band.

LOL... are you sure you are not confusing him with Shaggy?

Buffy, just because most people won't know a FOW song before "Stacy's Mom" doesn't mean they deserve a NEW artist nomination. I don't know a FOW song other than "Stacy's", but I did know they were around since the mid 90s, I even said it in my first post. I still believe they did not deserve that nom., new or old.

People didn't know GC before "Lifestyles...," does that mean they should of been nominated as well?
