Default Past TV Shows that would have never made it today

Hey guys..

I was wandering if there were any hit TV Shows from the 70's/80's/even 90's that if they premired today would never make it ratings wise.

I would have to say "Growing Pains" "Full House" "Mork and Mindy" "Wings" and "Gilligan's Island"

What do you think?

"Hogan's Heroes"...I doubt it would make it even if it were set in a fake war.

Probably the rural shows like "The Beverly Hillbillies" or "Petticoat Junction".

Gosh I can't think of a show from the decades of the 50's, 60,'s or 70's that would make it. Todays audience are more clever. Half the 60's were fantasy shows. But on the other hand I seldom watch any shows from the 90's. It a whole new ball game.

I don't think I Love Lucy would've made it.

All In The Family would probably have a hard time getting made today.

Step By Step, Full House, Growing Pains and many more... it's a wonder a lot made it as long as they did!

For starters, "Family Ties." Any show that doesn't portray a young conservative like Alex P. Keaton as a villain would never make it past the 1990's.

I agree. I'm surprised that show is lasting in reruns. Boy, if it weren't for Michael J. Fox . . . he's the glue to the show. In my opinion, I honestly don't think Family Ties is"making it" in today's age because the ratings have not proven otherwise. It has gotten horrible timeslots for most of it's cable life. I will not be surprised if the show gradually fades away in the next ten or twenty years.

Any show that has anything about it that anyone would consider politically incorrect wouldn't get made now:

All in the Family- derogatory language against ethnic groups,

Hogan's Heroes- considered to be insensitive to war vets and anti-semitic,

Chico and the Man- considered reinforcing stereotypes of latino/Mexicans,

I Love Lucy- anti-feminist messages in Lucy's behavior,

I Dream of Jeannie- anti-feminist messages in Jeannie's behavior, Bewitched- anti-feminist messages in Darrin's anti-witchcraft attitude and promotes alcoholism,

What's Happening- promotes obesity in African Americans

Many others....

Also any show that didn't have conventionally pretty people prominently featured or that had a cast of over 40 year olds as the leads wouldn't have a chance now:

Odd Couple, Lucy Show, Gomer Pyle, many many others....
