Suddenly Susan once had a plot that paid homage to this scene. Betty White played an elderly woman who turned out to be an incompetent worker after Susan had her hired. When Susan had her fired , she took Susan's boss to court. The case was going badly for Susan and her boss. Todd, the spacey music critic, threw a briefcase onto the courtroom floor during testimony, saying "It worked on The Brady Bunch".
