What was this case? Names, etc? I vaguely remember a surly southern husband and wife suspected of killing a (maybe married and cheating) man and his young girlfriend in their car as they made out. Perhaps it was the late 1940s/1950s.
Thanks, Sir Rhosis |

If you're talking about the case I think you are, the young woman was Audrey Moat.
She vanished in 1956. Her married lover was found shot to death in her car, parked at the edge of a lake. Since there were articles of his and hers clothing in the backseat of the car, people theorize that Audrey and the man were in the process of making love when they were spotted by the mean guy who owned land around the lake. He shot the lover, and chased Audrey from the car. No trace of her was ever found, although the mean old man bragged later that he had killed both Audrey and her lover. The spot where the car was originally parked is now under water. It was Audrey's daughter who brought the case to UM. |

I remember a case but i dont know if i saw it on UM or FBI files. A couple was making love in a car in a swamp area and they were killed by the land owner. But i do remember that the suspect was captured years later in other state.
I dont remember the year or the crime. Maybe its the same case. |

If the killer was definitely caught, then it isn't this case. The swamp guy, as well as a woman friend who was apparently also involved, died without spending a day in jail.
